Cute casual interior matched by friendly service, punchy drinks (including a lipsmacking scotch bonnet margarita) and a menu packed with mouthwatering dishes. This is one of the few restaurants I've been to that didn't serve up a single bad dish, but stand outs include the salt fish fritters, cassava fries and wonderfully soft, chewy roti (basically anything fried). Extra credit for serving up a decent portion of fried plantain as well, a dish that is often inexplicably miserly in other restaurants or take aways. The only reason the chicken ("Colombo de poulet") and curry mutton don't quite make the top picks is that for me they needed an extra kick of spice. The dishes were still extremely tasty, but I missed the distinctive fire of the signature scotch bonnet. Still, I'd make the trip here again to try everything again and order new dishes to boot - I can certainly vouch for Island Social Club doing a brilliant job of refining Caribbean cuisine, which has never quite gone mainstream in the UK, in this chilled East London outpost.

I don't usually leave reviews but this was SO good and totally the best place to be on a Friday night, I enjoyed the atmosphere as much as i did the food too. We kicked it off with 2 for 1 cocktails, I had the rum one with a hint of chilli and it was one of the nicest cocktails I've ever had. We had the melt in the mouth Curry Mutton, something you would never cook at home and tasted so special and we mopped it up with Roti which was made to perfection. We also went all out with the sides (I can highly recommend the Salt Fish Fritters) and we kept asking for more of the home made sauces, the mango one was totally banging. I came away feeling like I'd tasted something really different and authentic made with love. I'll be back.

Everything we ordered and ate was delicious and cooked beautifully. The jerk chicken wings were crisp to the bite and gave way to a lovely succulence and were just the right side of spicy hot. The cassava chips were moreish in the extreme, I’d have happily eaten a load more. The roti was buttery, crumbly goodness and was the perfect accompaniment for the star of the show which of course was the curry goat. Quite simply the best I have ever tasted; the meat was so tender it fell apart at the slightest touch of the fork and sat in an unctuous, complex, brilliantly spiced gravy/sauce that I could’ve drank by the bucket load.

My friend and I decided to try ISC after she read a review in ES magazine and we weren’t disappointed! The roti was beautifully done, flakey and delicious and the curry mutton was full of flavour and cooked to perfection. I also had the Scotchy Margarita which is probably now my favourite cocktail! I highly recommend this place for great quality food and amazing cocktails!

This place is amazing! A really chilled out atmosphere, nothing pretentious but the food is so tasty. I had the Columbo De Poulet with Roti, definitely the best roti in London and the perfect thing to mop up that curry. The cocktails are clever and STRONG too. Will definitely be coming again.

Checked this place out under recommendation from a foodie friend. I wasn't disappointed. The food, service and drinks were all great. The rotis were 🤤 😍 Now I live nowhere near this place but it was worth the travel for me to get there. They have an outside space that when the weather picks up I imagine will be the place to be. Definitely worth a visit and I'll be back for sure

Cozy indoor restaurant, with outdoor seating. The staff is friendly and inviting. I was impressed by the food with it's British Caribean twist. Homemade mango sauce and pepper sauce are a must try. I understand the roots are #Grenada and #Jamaica. Simple and easy to understand menu, no complications. I will return as I would like to try all the items on the menu.
