Back-a-yard Grill @ The Village Restaurant

To be honest, we saw this restaurant online via social, and the food looked great. We travelled down and wanted to test the food ourselves. So we got the Caribbean breakfast with extra sides and two different pancakes. The pancakes were so big but so warm and soft and a real treat to eat. So we moved on to the Caribbean breakfast, and i must say the food was really lovely. It was a mix of herbs and flavours. We ordered two smoothies as well, which looked great from a presentation point of view. The customer service was at the highest level. The young man gave us all the information needed, which was helpful. We did ask for a few things, but he was very accommodating, which made the experience better, with enough space to have conversations and enjoy the meal. The parking was not bad as well. We were able to park a few mins away from the shop location. So overall, if you like a mix between the Caribbean and American food, this is a great place to take your friends and family. The location has a park outside, so you can walk it off and enjoy the views when your belly is full.

Fantastic food! Amazing cocktails! I was so so impressed with the Caribbean breakfast. It was so fresh and authentic with a perfect amount of spice and fresh thyme! Fried bammies cooked to perfection. Light and fluffy fried dumplings. Wonderful fresh squeezed juices. Great background music! Attentive staff. Can't wait to come back! It's really hard to find the restaurant but keep looking! Please improve your signage.

We went to try out their brunch menu. And it did not disappoint! The eggs Benedict was superb. All coffees and lattes were good. The Oreo pancakes are to die for. I'm from the U.S. and their take on the All American breakfast was fantastic. Our waiter was Daniel and was super awesome. Highly recommend going to this hidden gem in Kidbrooke Village.

Stopped off here during a visit to the fantastic playground nearby. It’s really kid-friendly with a nice little kids menu, though I ordered a few smaller items from the main menu for my little ones. The staff are incredibly friendly and the food is good. It’s perfectly located just by the playground and only a few minutes walk from Kidbrooke station. Definitely recommend if you’re in the area.

We took an impulsive walk to Back a Yard as it was such a lovely day out. A professional young gentlemen Alexander served us. He was very welcoming and hospitable throughout our dining experience. Together with the wonderful flavours each dish provided and the generous portions, we’ll definitely return.

We had a fabulous breakfast at the cafe. We went to visit the new playground and honestly wouldn't have known the cafe was there. It is so spacious, clean, with a fabulous menu. The pancakes are incredible. As a family with young children the great facilities including baby change were a big plus. We will def be back
