Ahmad's Cafe

This place is excellent. A proper hidden gem. If in east London, make sure you go there. The mix grill was to die for! The samosa chaat and different types of chips were delicious! The curry’s were amazing! The taste and the way it was presented! And to top it all off, finish with their signature ahmads desi chai. Will 100% be visiting them again.

I use to go here often when it was called Al Firdous. My favourite were the samosas and vegetable curry. My family go here quite a bit but I've been once since, not knowing it's the same place with a name change. The staff were very nice and friendly. The food is fresh, delicious and so was the Chai. Visited on a friday evening with family, decor was nice, friendly staff warm greetings as we came in. Food arrived within 10 mins of ordering. Wanted the nihari but had finished instead we opted for the Karahi Gosht which was amazingly tasty and so tender. The seekh kebabs were juicy and just right. Family friendly, very spacious, toilets available. Highly recommended 👌

I used to get food from here back when I was at uni about 8 years ago when it was called Al Firdous (the saag is to die for and the best I've ever had honestly it's unbeatable) after graduating I never really went back to the area as I live in North London but I kept thinking of this place and wondered if it was still about, saw on google that it was now called Ahmads Cafe and was gutted until I called up and was told they just renamed the restaurant and I was over the moon! I had to drive down for old times sake and the food was amazing as always and the prices are excellent, not overpriced at all and the portions are great. Since then I've come back a few times and introduced my family to this amazing food which they all love! We don't go down to East London and it's a 30 minute drive but it is SO worth it just for the food so believe me when I say it's THAT GOOD that its worth driving 1 hour for!
