Nice pub located in Muswell Hill.
Came on a bank holiday Monday for a quick drink in the afternoon.
I have removed a star because there was no staff... Literally no one to be seen, eventually after 10 minutes someone emerged from the cellar to serve me.
However, rest of the pub is great. Great drinks, pints, cocktails. Nice beat garden, very clean too.
Maybe hire more staff?...

A lovely pub in the heart of Muswell hill, on Fortis Green Road. A pub of stripped out " shabby chic" well done. It was not immediately clear what was available on keg, taps are on the back bar. A good selection available and a couple of casks on offer too. Service was happy and friendly as well as speedy, full marks! A word must be said about the garden, a wonderful sheltered patio with loads of seating and an upstairs balcony setting area with more booths and everything, quite brilliant. All in all, a very fine place for a drink or to sample the fine inexpensive, bespoke menu. Certainly worth a visit!!

But I was a bit shocked about the prices to be honest!
The picture is of the £8.50 children's meal we bought for our hungry 8 year old. It's a joke! It basically means I would leave the pub in search for more food to feed my kid because he'd just about got his appetite up by the time he inhaled this tiny little starter, which totally defeats the purpose of a pub dinner. I did complain and they were very nice to give us some more.
But whilst we understand there is some reason for the portion size in terms of calories (supposedly to prevent obesity in children), I believe a lower price would then be more suitable. I know its an affluent area, but...
I first visited this place many years ago when it was called The John Logic Baird. Named after the pioneer of television who broadcast the first images from the nearby Alexandra Palace in 1936. Wooden televisions are still stacked up inside. I think the local amateur dramatic society were in attendance as they took quite sometime in saying goodbye to each other before leaving. Only to re-enter the building 30 or 40 mins later and repeat the whole process. Much to our amusement. Great entertainment.
Lovely little (well pretty good size) pub with indoor and outdoor seating. Love the variety of beers, ales and ciders available.
Popped in for a pint and wouldn’t mind returning to try some food and more drinks!
Outdoor area had decent heaters for the chilly days, fairly big garden. With a few additional nooks and crannys.
Lovely pub, but management need to get their act together. Just one (lovely, cheerful) lady was left on her own to serve the whole pub in the evening. And she was great..
Went back again on 16/3/23. Had dinner this time, and it was not at all memorable at all. Go there for beers and watch sports. Eat before or after your beers - elsewhere. By the way, a choice of wines, or even a wine list, is not really a priority for them either.
Love, love, love this pub. Big enough, family and dog friendly, good food. Our toddler loves to spend time here with us and we can always find some food for him. Events always on and soccer on screens as well!
Lovely location with an Epic Beer Garden. Walked past this place by chance and saw the beer garden through the window. Have now found a new regular to head to.
Great food and beer. Staff are a bit aloof, maybe we weren't the age group they want as customers 🤔
Love this place and the girls behind the bar all deserve a raise! Positive energy even in the face of challenges like late deliveries. Delighted that this is our local. Roll on more visits and more fun. Love and laughter!!
The staff at The Village Green are so friendly. I very much enjoyed my Seoul burger and my companion always enjoys the fish and chips. It's a good place to hear each other over dinner. My companion very much enjoyed their alcohol free beer on tap. Also, we enjoyed the playlist 🙂
The first Pimms of the season. And it was heavenly. Rain or shine (we had both today), they have got you covered. Next time I have to book one of those cosy looking booths though! Staff were lovely and it all felt very Covid safe.
We had our lunch there on my birthday. It had just opened and a few people were seated. Although they were under staffed, their Sunday roast was good. Generous portions.
