Some delicious Uyghur food at Etles Finchley with a number of my friends. There was so much food, fed the 6 of ys well!
We ordered cold starters of spicy tripe and spicy tongue, Manta & Tugur dumplings, Samsa Samosa, lamb skewers, stir fried Leghmen noodles, naan bread and the large chicken plate to share.
All were really tasty and the staff were friendly. It had a very home cooked feel.
They also have a branch in Walthamstow that I’ll likely try the next time I visit
Excellent place for a different oriental/Turkish influenced dining experience. The states are different with the use of cinnamon and star anise in some dishes. The meat skewers were fantastic and so were the dumplings. As we weren't sure of what to order we gave the owners a budget per person and let them bring us food. We dined + soft drinks, followed by some cake and tea for around £22 each. I believe that to be great value. The restaurant is clean and minimalistic.
Nice ambiance, a menu with a wide selection, and most important the food which was fantastic. I could tell a lot of care went into the design of the restaurant with numerous Uyghur traditional/cultural items decorating the walls. If you want a unique experience, this is for sure the place. I highly recommend it.
I am so glad I found an authentic Uyghur cuisine local to me! The food was extremely fresh and so so tasty! The interior design was also very pretty and seating is very comfortable. The owner is extremely friendly and welcoming! Prices are very good for what is served!
Definitely recommend the big plate chicken and also the kawap! The lamb kawap was so juicy and the seasoning was just right. Was also given complimentary homemade onion naan and humous which was also very delicious! Especially dipping the naan in the sauce of big plate chicken!
Don’t forget to leave space for the homemade honey cake! It was so so good!
I can’t wait to come back again to try out the other items on the menu!
We went in on a Saturday evening. Restaurant was reasonably busy but we were seated without hesitation.
The restaurant was very clean. The staff were attentive and friendly.
We ordered a variety of starters and mains. All of them were tasty. The food was all halaal.
Some of the dishes were a little bit cold and there was a long wait. The starters (kebabs) arrived after the mains. Otherwise a five star!
Will come back again in the future definitely.
This is by far the best Xingiang food I ever tried outside China. The staff were extremely welcoming and kind. And the restaurant vibe is positive, and clean. I definitely recommend the Kaorou Skewers (Meat Shesh) , DingDing chaomian (Chopped noddles).
Etles Uyghur is probably the best Uyghur restaurant I tried in London. Comparing with those overpriced and overrated ones in the central london, this one is definitely a hidden gem in North Finchley. Will recommend it to everyone who live nearby or just wanna a hearty meal after hiking in Hampstead Heath. Fried noodles is the best, so is the baked dumplings - Flaky pastry and juicy fillings, everything you expected from a baked dumpling and more.
We had a lovely time at Karvon restaurant. The food was delicious and fresh (I highly recommend the Pilaf) and the staff was very kind and welcoming. If you are looking for authentic Central Asia cuisine, this is the place to go!
Lovely food. I saw this passing by as it was pretty I thought I'd try it out. Amazing food! Really tasty and just the right about of spice. The atmosphere is welcoming and friendly and the decor inside is very artistic and beautiful. Staff are lovely and curtious. I recommend number 20 "Etles Kung Pao Chicken" which is stir fried chicken in peppery peanut sauce.
Will be trying the popular etles lamb skewers next time as they sell out fast!
I spotted the new branch open up on Finchley Road during my commute to work and decided to check it out with a friend. The restaurant is cosy even when most of the tables are occupied and the staff are extremely friendly and welcoming, and it feels like being invited into a family home more than a restaurant. The food was delicious, with reasonably sized portions and prices. The dumplings, which have the texture of tortellini, were a personal favourite. The hand pulled noodles were also fantastic and the meat on the lamb skewers just melts in your mouth. Highly recommended and will be going again!
