This was the best ramen I’ve ever tasted. It was the perfect blend of spice and flavor. I also had a plum wine which was delicious. While the service wasn’t that great, I truly enjoyed the food so much that I would probably opt next time to sit at the bar instead if I’m in town again.
This restaurant is truly wonderful. It is situated in a fantastic location. The ambiance is simply excellent. We had ramen and katsu curry chicken, and both dishes were outstanding. The prices are really reasonable for London. Additionally, the staff members were exceptionally friendly and accommodating.
Love this place! The ramen never disappoints and the drinks are delicious too. I’ve introduced so many people to this place and they all loved it 😊 they have a great deal Mon-Tuesday - £9.99 for their specialty ramen. Not sure when it ends so better visit soon!
Only negatives - sometimes the service can be slow even when it’s quite empty but the servers make up for it by being so lovely! Also, the chicken wings are not nice so would avoid them…
Several options and not the most expensive considering this is Japanese cuisine. Place is popular and was mostly booked through reservations so we had to sit outside which meant we couldn't soak in the ambience inside - note to others to make reservations. Ramen was excellent, and there's decent vegetarian options.
We had ramen, bbq chicken skewers, plum wine and a beer. Everything tastes outstanding and the price is reasonable considering its location. We were sitting next to the open kitchen and was amazed by how clean the kitchen was maintained regardless how busy the chefs were. It's fantastic to watch how swiftly the chef were cooking with care. Ten out of ten! Will definitely recommend.
We could never get bored of coming here!
We've visited a couple of times now, and the staff are always super friendly! and the open-plan kitchen is always fun to watch!
The food is fantastically delicious! So much depth & flavour in their broths, soups & sauces.
Certainly, in my top 3 of ramen restaurants in the UK.
It is one of my favourite places to visit in London, well always return when we have the opportunity. It's definitely worth the visit!
Came here for dinner with my partner the atmosphere was lovely with great decor! We went on a Wednesday so we got a Wednesday wings deal which I definitely recommend the chicken karaage.
We got a starter of the cheese tsukune which came out before the main dish, when the ramen came out the empty plate was left on the table and as we where on a single table with two seats there’s not much room so I’m not sure why the plate wasn’t taken back.
The ramen itself was very nice we both had the yokocho ramen! But I myself aren’t a lover of eggs so I asked for it to be on the side so my partner could have it, they allowed this.
We both struggled a little bit and got asked if we could take away the rest we where then given a take away bowl which we had to pour in ourselves which I didn’t mind doing but thought it was a little bit odd. We sat there for a good half hour with empty bowls on the table yes we did order more wings to take away but you’d think the bowls would be taken back in the meantime.
We got the bill which we where happy to pay but to also get a service charge….. we did pay it but we wasn’t made known of this and if it was a mandatory or optional thing. Personally as a being in similar job I know what it’s like but the service was slow and poor especially to be paying that much for it.
Seems like a restaurant of the future. We ordered separately on our phones - make sure you all order at the exact same time as I did mine 2 minutes before and it came with a while before the others. Good happy hour cocktails. Very little interaction with staff, which is fine just feels very different to most other restaurants.
food was pretty good. service wasn't remarkable so bit iffy about the service charge. what was lacking was 100% made up for by the atmosphere, absolutely amazing. located in a cozy side street
this place felt like a time machine into the 1990’s. i love the aesthetic of the whole place, and their small range of options allows them to refine their crafts, serving only the best possible ramen to their most hungry customers!
(p.s, thank you to the staff who let me and my father in to use the toilet after we left 🙏)
[Visited 2022-07-06] Great atmosphere and tasty food. I wish the bowls were bigger and that not every non-vegetarian option came with an egg, but those are minor complaints.
Would definitely like to go again.
When I went it was a very busy day, but we didn’t mind sitting outside. You order on your phone or you can ask the waiters for what you want. Unfortunately, because it was very busy staff were usually swamped with all the other things they need to do. The food was delicious, I definitely recommend the takoyaki and the melon cream soda float(I think they have it alcoholic). Prices are decent for London. I would definitely visit here again.
Excellent restaurant. Open late, no waiting and a brilliant menu. We had a bit too much - 2 vegan miso ramen, 1 extra noodles, fried chicken and spicy edamame for two. The Asahi is always a perfect match and overall the service was tremendously friendly and quick. Not sure if advisable to book in advance, there’s lots of seatings and the restaurant is very spacious.
We came here on Sunday. The restaurant wasn’t too crowded that time, so we got a table easily. I’ve seen the reviews about the service so I didn’t expect much BUT
Let’s start with the food, maybe this wasn’t my best Ramen of my life, but I’d say it was delicious and the portions were huge. Gyoza was also nice and the cocktails as well.
The service was superb, despite the negative reviews. I’m not here to judge anyone but sometimes everyone has a bad day and if you don’t respect the other people then I guess the service can be rough. Overall I had very good experience. Well done to everyone.
I’d definitely come back.
Thanks
Popped in for luncheon before heading to the theatre for a show with my partner. Was drawn in due to the quirkiness of the restaurant from the outside, inside didn't disappoint either, very atmospheric. We didn't book but was fortunate we caught it at a semi quiet moment, we choose a little booth to sit in. Food wise my partner picked a katsu chicken curry for the main and I had a ramen bowl, forgot the name but it was delicious. We also had extra side dishes of bao buns and a prawn dish. All really tasty. My partner loved her meal but couldn't finish it, nice sized portions, which was good for me as I finished it off. 😅
Anyway the only gripe was that we was sitting around for what seemed ages waiting for someone to come over with a desert menu that in the end I just went over to the bar (where to waiting staff were but both were glued to their phones!) and asked for the bill.
Other than that a very pleasant experience and one that we would do again.
Truly an amazing restaurant! From the moment I walked in, I was captivated by the delightful atmosphere. The ambiance is perfect for a memorable dining experience.
Highly recommend Yococho for a truly delightful dining experience.
It's a restaurant that excels in both food and atmosphere, making it a must-visit for any food lover.
The restaurant was full inside so we dined outside, the food was delicious, especially the broth! It was really good, the waiter was very friendly and helpful. The food came really quickly, and I would recommend you to try it out!
Ramen is pretty good, nice broth, not too creamy (heavy). Generous portions and we were served quite fast, which was great. Gyozas not the best though, pretty bland.
Environment is nice, lots of posters and decoration giving the place its own charm.
