This is a lovely Persian restaurant set in the heart of Ballards Lane, Finchley. From when you open their doors you'll step into a very traditional Persian style atmosphere. The waiter greeted us very nicely and explained to us the dishes on the menu. The portions are quite generous compared to other local restaurants so order cautiously unless you've skipped lunch and tucking into dinner & quite hungry. We ordered humous, yogurts, bread, soup, meat platter, salad (not realising that they give you a gigantic bowl of salad as complimentary). It was all delicious. I expected the rice to be some what seasoned but it was just plain rice but they give you a big portion. The prices are very reasonable and a very friendly environment.
The salad is on the house. The portion was more than 4 people. The sauce on the salad was vinegar & walnut, worth to try it.
Starter: we ordered "mast-e-mousir" (it is kind of yogurt). Compared to other restaurants, it's bowl was significantly bigger! We had "Kashk-e-Bademjoon" containing walnut, onion, aubergine & kashk. It tasted delicious. However, bear in mind that you need to order bread separately for this dish.
Main: we ordered "Kebab makhsous". It tastes good. The tender fillet kebab tasted delicious. Also, we ordered "Shivid baghali ba mahiche". The mahicheh (shank) was a lot, one person can not definitely finish it. However, its taste was not good. I do not recommend it.
Dessert: we had faloude bastani which was good.
The staff were nice. Finding a parking may take some time. In overall, I recommend the place.
Authentic, delicious and generous portions. Salad with walnut sauce is on the house. Attentive and good service. If you are a fan of Persian street food this is your place.
Have been here millions times. The dish No. 18, lamb neck, is AMAZING! Let me say in this way - if your kids are not good then you take them here, after they take the dishes, they would crying out and say’ oh~~mama~~~’. Recommend definitely :)
Good food all round and probably the best Iranian restaurant I’ve been to so far in London!
I recently had the opportunity to dine at Mother Restaurant, and it was absolutely fantastic! The food was delicious, with a wide variety of options! The atmosphere was cozy and welcoming, and the staff were friendly and attentive! Amazing service from kourosh! I highly recommend trying their plant-based dishes, as they are truly outstanding. It's a great place to enjoy a healthy and satisfying meal.

Very good persian food, huge portions, and reasonable price.
We had a lovely experience there. The staff is friendly and guides well about the dishes and the portion. Food was served in authentic way. Kebab were good and juicy but Lamb shank was the best among all. Every dish portion is sufficient for more than one persons. The prices are reasonable.
