Cairo Kitchen on Clapham High Street was one of the most pleasurable dining experience I’ve had in a long while. I had never had Egyptian cuisine before and the wait staff was enthusiastic in explaining it to me. I can’t eat super spicy food, but others in my party need it. I got a flavorful Chicken Shish platter which was amazing. The appetizer plate of dips and bread was delicious. I can’t wait to go back. My only slightly negative observation is that the music was quite loud and did not add to the ambiance. I wonder if there is Egyptian music that would suit their needs? The warm and friendly people who work there made up for the music. I will update this review with photos soon. The restaurant is very near the Clapham Common Tube Station and so easy to get to.

Absolutely loved this place. First time here and it was a great evening. Lots of options (incl veg and vegan) and we shared most of the dishes. We had some hot mezzes (recommend the prawn dish), Dukka bread, the mixed grill and a Koshari paired with a bottle of the red Domaine des Tourilles. We will definitely visit again.

Great food!! Unfortunately haven’t eaten here in person but have ordered on two occasions now and the food has been impeccable. Absolutely love the harissa chicken flatbread! Lamb Hawawashi also delicious and all dips and flatbreads very fresh. Enjoy the dukkah fries with harissa dip too, quite reasonably priced too. Will definitely be ordering again!
