Jiji

I went to Jiji restaurant for the first time last week and I have already recommended the restaurant to a friend. Jiji is one of my favorites restaurants. The food is tasty and the service is pleasant. We also loved the decoration. Nice place to eat with friends and family. Try the prawn croquettes! So delicious.

Brilliant cocktails and food. Lovely neo-Japanese style dishes where they’ve blended some amazing flavours together to make some masterpieces. We loved one of the tuna sushi (the one sitting next to the wasabi in the photo with the chicken sandwich) so much we actually ordered another 2 each to finish off before making our way. We were fortunate enough to arrive on time for some live music too 😊🎵

Lovely setting behind the odeon & shops in Islington, feels separate enough like you're in a different place, staff were attentive and helped walk us through the menu. Portions were a little small and items are not particularly cheap but quality is high and taste is great. The shawarma is delicious but shame it doesn't include the flatbread for the price, would recommend a visit if you have a special occasion.

Food was good with a decent amount of vegetarian options, however no vegetarian sushi. The highlight was the tofu steak (daily special), the flatbread (delicious) and the baked cauliflower. The aubergine chips were a bit over cooked and tasted very deep fried. Service was a bit hit and miss and the cocktails felt overpriced Nice ambience, but definitely on the pricier side

- Mouth watering sushi & food with appeasing flavour combinations. - Great presentation. - Helpful staff. - Secluded spot with great patio for when weather is good (they also have heaters & blankets for when not). - N.B. Fairly pricey if ordering several dishes separately. - Tuna & avocado tartare with truffle sauce was my favourite dish. - Spicy tuna rolls were decorated with roe which popped with flavour. - Crispy aubergine chips were surprisingly soft, not to mention moreish. - Shawarma & Sando Schnitzel were good sized portions.

Fantastic ambiance and delicious food. Top pick was the 48hr miso-marinated grilled salmon. Absolute perfection! Prawns from the specials menu were also incredible. The team are great - very accommodating and welcoming. The restaurant is beautifully curated and designed, with stunning tableware, lighting and furnishings really adding to the overall experience. All of the little details have been considered and it shows. 💳 American Express is accepted

JIJI is definitely ideal for a date night with your partner (or a catch-up with a good friend!) The low lights definitely set the mood and the menu provides plenty of options for sharing! Definitely not on the cheap side, but you’re paying for the quality. Definitely recommend coming here for the sushi! I selected a few of the single speciality sushi’s and the scallop one was by far my favourite. Great buttery flavour and melts in your mouth… I could eat 20 of these and rack up a large bill but would still be satisfied. I also recommend the fish taco!! I wasn’t a huge fan of the aubergine chips. They were a little greasy for my liking and the sauce made it a little gross to eat after you tuck into your 8th chip. Gets a little busy around 8PM on a Saturday, but after a few signature cocktails you’ll have zoned out to be honest. Overall, it was a nice experience. Ended up paying around £100 for a party of two and we had to unbutton our jeans by the end of the night. They have single tables and booths so would recommend calling to check if you can get the latter for the night.. tables are a little small and don’t provide the best backdrop for your photos. You get about 1.5hrs from when you are seated. Would I come back soon? Perhaps if I’m in the area — but I heard reservations are your best bet.

We had a great time eating the delicious food you are serving at your restaurant. The waiters and waitresses were committed to a great service, always with a smile and a welcoming approach. The atmosphere is cool, elegant and edgy and loved the modern style. Most importantly, the food and drinks on the menu tasted great.
