I had the pleasure of dining at Yaatra yesterday, and it was a culinary journey like no other. Their take on modern Indian cuisine was both innovative and authentic, merging traditional flavors with contemporary flair. Every dish was a testament to the outstanding craftsmanship of the chefs, and every bite left us yearning for more. The ambiance of the place was equally enchanting, enhancing our overall dining experience. But what truly set the evening apart was the warmth and hospitality of the staff. Their attentive and gracious service ensured that we savored every moment and every drink. I can't recommend this place enough for anyone looking to explore the wonders of modern Indian cuisine in a delightful setting!
One of the Beat Indian Restaurants in London
Atmosphere is great. Clean and upscale Modern
Foods are exceptionally good and tasty
No complain on food at all.
Check my picture on food
The lamb was so tender and soft when serve
All dishes serve in the right hot temperature
Rice is good, Butter. Hi Ken is a must. Chicken is very tender and soft as well not like many places where it’s hard and tough
Starters, the Calamari was unusually good
We end with the lava Cake and Icecream which is also very good
Staff were well trained and very nicely serve.
Top quality restaurant
Would highly recommend if u happen to want Indian food in town
Price is high but it’s quality and location deserved it. Price to Value ratio is good.
We had a reservation and had to wait over 20 minutes before we were given a table. We were asked to sit at the bar so we ordered a drink and we had to carry our drinks ourselves to the lower ground floor, where our table was. This wouldn't be an issue if it wasn't that it's not the cheapest place you can visit.
Food was very good, quite spicy and this wasn't mentioned anywhere on the menu - I don't mind it but would be good to have an idea of how spicy something is.
The ambience is very nice.
I am in London to celebrate my 30th birthday and went to Yaatra without realizing it’s a best practice to get a reservation. Despite this oversight, they were extremely accommodating and were able to find a table for my girlfriend and I.
Yaatra offers highly curated and thoughtful tasting, set, and cocktail menus featuring farm fresh ingredients, brilliant flavor combinations, and dishes to fit every palette.
The interior boasts a beautifully renovated firehouse with warm ambiance and authentic Indian accents.
The staff were kind, incredibly informative, flawlessly attentive, and demonstrated an attention to detail I have seldom ever experienced in a restaurant.
The Red Deer Venison was a fantastic starter; the Sea Bass was the best fish I’ve ever had; and the Chocolate Mousse was out of this world!
In all, this was a top 3 dining experience of my life. I relish returning to London next and enjoying this deservedly Michelin Star rated establishment again.
Thank you!
Took advantage of the £30 set menu. Really lovely experience, went with my girlfriend for our anniversary. The food was very very good, really enjoyed the sea bass main (pictured), for the starters the calamari is very good. The Desserts were very nice, but I think maybe the cheesecake could have been a bit more crumbly on the base and the mouse maybe a little bit lighter. All in all, exceptionally happy -nice food, nice venue and nice people. Thank you very much Yaatra and all the staff!
Yaatra is a real little gem that deserves quite more than the 1 Michelin star it currently has! This was out first Michelin star Indian restaurant and it did not disappoint. The portions and flavors were just so perfect that we will have to visit again when we’re in the UK. We opted for the tasting menu (non-vegetarian) but did not add the wine pairings with each course. If you can manage a glass of wine with each course, most definitely go for that option. The cherry on top of the cake was the professionalism, warmth, and genuine hospitality of the manager and staff. They also honored a request of providing a small personalized dessert for my husband’s birthday, for which we were very grateful! Yaatra also has 2 smaller dining areas for small parties that are so beautiful and intimate. I wished I lived in the UK when I got married because the space would have been perfect for our small wedding. There is also a lot of interesting history connected to the building, which was previously a fire station! We truly enjoyed everything at the restaurant and are heartily cheering for Yaatra’s second Michelin star! 👏👏
Went on a whim after finding the package set menu deal online (3+Cocktail for £30) and had a really divine time. The early lunch service was nice and quiet and so we had devoted attention and service from the excellent wait staff.
The courses were all very tasty (I managed to sneak tastes of almost every option from my tablemates), we also opted for a basket of naan and poppadoms as extras. I have a major sweet tooth, and the chocolate mousse was decadent and my favourite by far.
Because we were there for an anniversary, we were presented with a lovely congratulatory plate and well wishes! A nice cherry on top of a lovely afternoon.
The old fire station shows through the elegant updated decor just enough to really give the space a stunning extra something. The reds and golds that have been used inside are just as lovely as the plates.
In the end, the only thing I could think of to criticise was that there aren't any included options for diabetics on the third course of the set menu. We opted instead for a cappuccino at extra charge - I was informed though that that was "a spectacular cappuccino"!
I will return!
We booked a table of 5 for a birthday at Yaatra. They accommodated us in a great location inside the restaurant. The service and politeness of the waiters was excellent - very attentive and informative. They were very kind to us and didn't rush us. We initially assumed the portions would be small, but actually all dishes were reasonably sized and we were thoroughly fed from starters-to-dessert. The managers even kindly gave us a birthday cake. Overall, the food was extremely tasty and lived up to our expectations. Both fish and chicken dishes were cooked to perfection, tender and juicy. Spicy but not annoyingly hot. I could tell careful thought and attention-to-detail had gone into the meal. The bellini cocktails were fabulous also! Thank you for the great experience
Absolutely fantastic!
Service was excellent from the moment we arrived until we left.
Food was outstanding, cannot fault any of the dishes we had👌🏻
Value for money also spot on in my opinion, for the quality on offer.
Delightful discovery of this one Michelin star (2023) restaurant located in a charming and a well conserved Westminster Fire Station building. Was a bit concerned that it might too heavy to have Indian cuisine on a very hot day but the starter of the Tandoori Herb Smoked Halibut was aesthetically and wonderfully refreshing and the Garwhal Goat Osso Buco outstanding! We wanted to eat it with our fave naan but the genteel waiter recommended we try it with the saffron rice instead which turned out perfect. I also love the addition of rice and tapioca papadum to the usual in the papadum basket.
Promised to come back for dinner when my son joins us from USA. And we had a great time. The Sindhi Lamb Shank Biryani was our fave besides the Ossoc Buco. It was almost full on a Monday night and the ambience of this place, together with the attentive service tops it all. Well deserving of their star.
Only comment is perhaps they could offer to recommend a combination of some dishes as everything seems so good. The Maitre D did suggest we replace one meat dish with seafood after we made our selection. Good advice as the scallops was so good and we could not finish all our meat in the end.
If I visit London again I will surely come back ❤️
