The best meal I have had out in ages. I can't remember the last time I made so many yum noises in one meal. I think we booked for the right time of 8.30 as we were not rushed at all. The staff were lovely. The drinks were great. And the beer on tap was reasonable price for a restaurant. The pork scratchings do need to come with a health warning of mind your teeth but they were tasty. Couldn't fault it. Food heaven.
Utterly superb food and service, an exciting menu, affordable and interesting wine menu. We went after having landed from a week in Italy, and it was by far the best meal of the week! Indeed, we spent the evening once we'd arrived home working out excuses to return as soon as possible. A gem.
Can't believe we never knew about this place when we live so locally. Lovely food in a great place and the service was fantastic. Not the cheapest but still very good value. Portion sizes were very good and the food was delicious. We will definitely visit again.
Lovely meal out for Valentines Day. It was great not to be squeezed in like sardines or have an overpriced set menu. Food was amazing & portion size was just right. Service was prompt & very friendly. All in all great value for money....we will definately be back.

We found this place by chance... we were not disappointed. Yummy food, friendly staff, very clean with a lovely calm atmosphere. Not just for steak and meat, I'm a veggie and the halloumi burger was amazing! In fact, all of our party ordered it!

Went out for a joint wedding anniversary meal and it was fantastic! Had nibbles, starters and mains plus cocktails, pints, wine etc and the bill was only £140 for 4 people. Lovely staff also gave us some complementary prosseco to celebrate out night. This was the first time but wont be the last time we visit the butchers bar! such a great night 🖒🖒🖒🖒🖒
Great evening, had heard good things and was not disappointed. Shared the steak platter , loved the mac and cheese side. All delicious. Fillet was delicious too. Portions good. Service friendly. Definitely recommended.

My partner took me here for my Birthday last nights it was really lovely. We shared a steak platter and it was all cooked beautifully, lovely side dishes and great to see staff who have great manners and really knew their stuff. We can’t wait to go again, we hear the Sunday lunch is fantastic too!
I went here for the first time a couple of weeks ago and I loved the place, the atmosphere, the people, the food. Today, for the second time, and I got the same feeling, perfect place to meet your friends for a conversation, to spend some good time, to relax, to have a good coffe, good food, delicious cakes and they even organise events, they have lovely brochures with informations about it. The staff is lovely and helpful. Definetely I will go again 😊👏

My goodness! When I drove up to this amazing place, I had my reservations, but as witnessed by the photos below, they didn’t last long. Superb food, attentive servers, excellent host. Ok, it’s not cheap, but my goodness it is worth it. We will be back, probably very soon! Can recommend the steak flight and roast lunches.
This is the place to get a good steak washed with a wine or beer,by preference or a fresh pizza in a wooden burning stove !
Went for Sunday Lunch. It was marvellous , it was excellent. Easily the best Sunday Lunch in the area. Pleasant, smiling staff who gave good service. The beef was medium rare, nicely pink in centre, tender and the pork also excellent. Don't understand why it isn't full on a Sunday as it is far better than others in the area for Sunday Lunch. Had migraine and had to leave quickly, sorted bill quickly for us, missed dessert as a result! Will be back .
10/10 from start to finish! Service is brilliant and staff are so friendly and helpful, for a Saturday night (quite busy) the time it took for our food & drinks was amazing. Food was unbelievable, me and my partner chose the chateaubriand sharer which was perfectly cooked and the sides were just as good! really nice atmosphere and will definitely be coming again soon:)
An excellent meal and service at The Butchers, if you’re looking for a steak bar that’s special this could be it.

Pretty good, well worth a look
We had the butchers sharing board (£15) which was all very tasty, great to share between two as a starter
We each had the Bavette (£18) cooked medium rare, my girlfriend had the chips and I had the macaroni and cheese. The chips were nice, the mac and cheese was good but a little cooler than I would have liked and her steak was more on the rare side of medium rare, not wanting to make a fuss she didn’t raise it however.
For desert we had the carrot and nut cake (£6.50) which was nice and warm and just what we needed to finish the meal.
We were sat on a two person table very close to the cash register and there was a LOT of foot traffic around our table, waiters and waitresses constantly going back and forth which didn’t bother me too much but my Mrs. Would have preferred to be more secluded.
It was worth noting the staff were exceptional, very attentive and friendly, we were blown away by all of them (yes - including you, new starter, you hang in there)
All in all a very pleasant evening, great food, great atmosphere, reasonable prices with room to improve. We will be going back.
Actually incredible all around. The Sunday roast is the most perfect tasting & combination of foods I have ever experienced. Awesome staff, outstanding chef, stunning venue and I will take a long drive up this part of the country again - even if purely to visit this steakhouse with my girlfriend.
