The George And Dragon Hotel Inn

we stopped there for a weekend break. the whole experience from check in to check out was excellent. the room was clean and adequate, the food and service was quick and well presented, the price was reasonable and the staff couldn't do enough to make our stay a pleasure. the karaoke on the friday night wasnt a problem and although there was a little bit of noise from people leaving at the end of the night, they dispersed quite quickly. the building being old has a few quirks but it is what it is. we would definitely stay there again and recommend it as a place to stay.

Ample parking space all nearby. First time visiting and the service and staff were all professional and friendly. We had the Sunday carvery and it was exceptional. Would recommend 👌

A big, huge thank you to all the staff at the George & Dragon. I can not thank you enough and wanted to let people know; you went far and beyond the call. My partner and I stayed at the hotel last week for two nights, when we checked out on the Saturday, I stupidly left behind my prescription sunglasses. These are no ordinary sunglasses, the frames belonged to my mother who sadly passed away in November last year. I decided to keep them as a memento of her, I had them made up for me, so she would always be with me. When we got home to Kent on Saturday afternoon, I realised I had left them ‘somewhere’, I was hoping it was at the hotel. I rang and spoke to Usef who immediately went to check – yes, they had been found. I said I would ring back on Monday to arrange postage; Usef assured me the glasses would be kept in a safe place until then. I rang on the Monday and arranged everything with Taylor, the manager. They have now arrived safe and sound. I am so grateful; the phone call from Taylor to tell me the glasses had been posted was thoughtful and very kind. We had a lovely stay at the George & Dragon and enjoyed the karaoke on Friday evening, but I did make a few suggestions when we left, Room 14 was clean and tidy, but it really needs a bigger TV and some tea bags. Stopped in for some lunch and watch football on TV. Friendly staff and atmosphere. Plenty of seating spread throughout and also plenty of tables in the sun out front. Plenty of on street parking nearby for the main street

We stayed as a group overnight in the George and Dragon on New Year's Eve and had a wonderful night. This lovely wooden beamed traditional English pub is full of charm and a warm and friendly atmosphere. This is down to it's wonderful staff who are so friendly and accommodating, and the awesome husband and wife duo who run it all (plus some lovely locals too!) They really made us feel so welcome and the room was beautiful; spacious and clean, with comfy beds and everything you could want from a hotel room! Will definitely come again. Would recommend to anyone wishing to spend some time in the superb historic village of Long Melford (lots to see and do!). It won't break the bank and you will be looked after in lovely surroundings.
