(My husbands google account) I recently stayed with my sister for 3 nights. The rooms were warm, clean and well equipped with tea making facilities, hairdryer etc. The food at the pub was amazing, couldn’t fault it. The breakfast that was included was the best we have ever had, proper sausages and well cooked. But best of all the staff were so friendly and helpful as was the owner Marie and her husband. We will definitely be back next year , there is so much more to explore in the area!

Just re opened after a full refurbishment this lovely Peak District Village Inn, and what a great job it is as well. This is now a real cosy place to eat, drink and stay, nice selection of Ales and Lagers, and a great food menu which has some great hearty food for walkers. They also have rooms a total of 4 offering b&b stays, I didn't see or use these as we hired a cottage In the Village. There were people staying and from what I heard the rooms offer a good comfortable stay, prices are around £100 a night inclusive of breakfast. There is plenty of off road parking available, and lovely walks from the Village, would highly recommend.

What a lovely overnight trip we had . The rooms are in a little block just opposite the pub . It was warm and cosy and well equipped. Back over in the pub the menu was unfussy with a range of choices . The food was simply delicious, my husband says the ale was well kept and he enjoyed a few pints . We slept very well indeed . In the morning back into the pub for breakfast, I'm away ,a full English for me . Again delicious, with a hot brewed coffee and juice too . We would definitely come again.

Friendly, welcoming staff. We visited late afternoon on a Sunday and there was a warm atmosphere with families and walkers. Our dog was welcome. The pub looks newly decorated to a high standard, it's comfortable and stylish. Quick service at the bar. We ordered sunday roasts. Good portions which were well presented and arrived in good time. The only downside they were not as hot as we would have liked.

Had Sunday roast here this afternoon - quality food, big portions and even a couple of slices of beef for the dog. We sat at a table by the log burner and had a beautiful meal in the warm. The staff were very friendly and looked after us really well. Thanks.

We’ve visited the pub today as we’re staying in the area, the food was delicious and there’s also a fantastic range of beers on tap. If you’re a stout lover try Luna, my beer loving husband commented it’s the nicest stout he’s ever tasted. We were lucky enough to visit on a glorious autumnal sunny day so we sat outside with our drinks after we’d eaten our food. Highly recommended. We’ll definitely be back if we’re in the area again

The Cheshire Cheese Inn doesn’t serve Cheese...which was the main reason we called. Starters; Prawn Cocktail - Good Salt & Pepper Chicken - REALLY GOOD. Mains; Egg mayo cob - poor standard, similar to what you'd get in a tesco meal deal. Roast Beef cob - definitely not roast beef, wafer thin supermarket type of beef. Chips - Really good, homemade chips. Service was really good, very polite staff really quick. Would visit again.

Ate at the pub as a group of 7 (and 3 dogs). We all had different mains and we were all really happy with our meals - great flavours, generous portions. Lovely, friendly service and atmosphere. Looking forward to going back

Had a lovely afternoon here in the sun. Couple of drinks and just chatting to locals and visitors outside. Enjoyed the atmosphere so much we then came back for dinner. Fantastic price on food and tasted lovely. Had some lambs liver and bacon, which was delicious.

Absolutely delicious!! We've eaten here a number of times since the refurbishment and the food is excellent! We've had the lasagne, beef ribs & burgers. Great food, great beer and a brilliant pub. Highly recommend!
