Review The Dog Inn - Longridge

Although the food was nice and at a decent price the service wasn't the best as we had to wait 15-20 for our prebooked table, never offered drinks at the table when we had empty glasses so we had to ask. Wasn't offered if anything else is needed (sauces or drinks) when the food arrived. Only after the meal we was checked on to see if everything was okay. I would go back as the food and price is decent although one of the mains looked like it should of been a starter (chicken in the basket) and not waiting along time for the food. Has a large car park at the back but I wouldn't be rushing back due to the service.

Absolutely gorgeous place. Was in the area after visiting friends and decided to give this place a try and I'm so glad we did. Staff were fantastic and friendly, happy to help and give recommendations. Starters: I had Nachos which were lovely and crispy and generousl loaded with cheese, salsa, guacamole and sour cream Hubby to be had BBQ ribs which he said were some of the best he's had .. I had a bite of one and can confirm they were bloody good ribs. Mains: I had the hanging chicken skewer.. wow the chicken was so succulent it slid of the skewer with ease, seasoned beautifully and came with chips and salad that had a lovely fresh dressing on it. Hubby to be had tbone steak... It was massive, with Diane sauce. He asked for rare to medium rare and if was cooked just right. Some how I managed to fit in a dessert which was Belgian waffle with ice-cream and chocolate sauce Perfect end to a beautiful meal If you are in the area and looking for some to eat I'd highly recommend this place

The pub is delightful and welcoming, with roaring fires and excellent scenery in the dining room. A little pricey and you will find small portions at least on starters. Home made chips delicious, we are yet to try the sunday lunch. Let's hope that is delicious as well.... Would not order the starters, which was just a little snack really as was just passing.. Little hard and bland, at one point was looking to see if the fish out of the goujons had slipped under the table, chicken wings were OK. Must say will return to try other choices on the menu beautiful pub.

A friend recommended we try this place for food and I am so glad we did! The food was amazing! Portions were very generous! It wasn’t too busy (Sunday 17:15) and the staff were super friendly! The Sunday lunch was probably one of the best I’ve ever had in a pub! We couldn’t fit in desert as we were so full but we will be back! My only regret was completely forgetting to tip! Will double up next time, I promise!

A perfect little getaway for the weekend. The apartment was homely and spacious. All the staff are friendly and we would definitely recommend a stay at the Dog Inn. A gem. Thank you for being very welcoming.

What a wonderful place. We stayed in the luxury apartments and they are gorgeous. The pub itself is brilliant and the food amazing. This is all due to the hard work and passion which Alison and her husband have. The staff are lovely, friendly and really look after you! Thanks to all the team including the chef and a special mention to Katelyn and Mia. Alison herself is a joy to be around! Thank you so much and we'll be back! Sylvia and Lynne.

Stayed over for 2 nights. Stayed in room 4, wow, what lovely accommodation. The owners are super friendly and lovely. A must stop if you are in the area.

The food was good, my pork chop was cooked to perfection. The only reason I have not given the food 5 Stars, is because, the battered fish, although very tasty, had been left too long before serving and as such the batter was no longer crispy. Will definitely revisit.

What a great mid-week indulgent treat we've just had. From the starters to dessert and the service from all the staff it was truly a first class meal. The katsu brisket with wasabi and an oriental chilli dip was great. For mains I had the fish of the day which was hake. Usually this is served with crab butter but I'm not a fan of crab so asked if the chef could do something different with it. They served it with confit tomatoes, olive and lemon and it was wonderful. The fish was cooked to perfection and the crushed potatoes they served it with we're so full of flavour - I didn't leave a speck of food on my plate it was that good. My boyfriend had the special fondue burger which was also great, served with proper hand-cut chips. For dessert we shared the Manchester tart and popcorn pannacotta. The pannacotta was the best of the two but they were both very tasty. The texture on the pannacotta was perfect made with whole vanilla bean and no taste of esthetic flavourings. One of the best I've had in years! The service from the front of house staff was attentive and nothing was too much trouble for them. On quieter mid-week nights it's easy for staff to become complacent and not provide the best service but I was really impressed with how welcoming everyone was. Came out on a sneaky date night to this little gem of a pub. New menu which looked fantastic and the food we ordered did not let it or us down. We had an amazing sharing ploughmans which had a ham hock terrine to literally die for it was awesome followed by Manchester tart and coconut sorbet simply delicious. Good service by as always fantastic staff. Will be back again before we return to Wales on the 1st March. Could do with an establishment like this at home please �

Myself, hubby and teen daughter visited on Sunday afternoon . We all had roast beef it was Amazing the Yorkshire puddings were huge the beef was lean and the mash was very creamy with lashings of meaty tasting gravy . We followed this very greedily I might add with sticky toffee pud and ice cream delicious is the word I would use . The service was very good all the staff were really friendly and attentive making sure we always had a drink and checking everything was to our liking. The decor was beautiful , I loved the small detail of dogs on the bathroom blinds 🐕 All in all I cannot rate the Inn more highly and will return in the future.

Stayed a few days in longridge, visited the pub every night, great atmosphere. Had Sunday lunch. Really lovely meal. Very friendly staff. Would definitely recommend it .

Gorgeous Gastro pub . Food was super and the atmosphere was just right , music was good and enough guests to make it buzzing ! Beautiful inside with a lovely outdoor space . Probably won’t be calling around the area again but can highly recommend .

Came for lunch with a group of friends. The food was good and the decor is lovely but we didn't feel welcome, the staff were miserable and acted like we were in their way. None of the staff smiled the whole time we were there. We weren't asked if our food was OK, if we wanted more drinks etc. Feels like the place is lacking in leadership. Someone needs to be there actually valuing customers and coaching the current staff in customer service. Disappointing.

Brilliant food! Manager treated us like his only customers, describing everything on the menu, he had my mouth watering! I ordered fish cakes to start, I don’t like fish!! They were absolutely gorgeous! We had burgers for kids, looked amazing but they weren’t letting us taste. Steaks were perfectly cooked. Prawn curry had prawns bigger than I’ve ever seen and chicken and ham hock pie was jam packed! Staff were amazing, polite and attentive. Well done, we’ll definitely be back

Ok � nice staff but I only had a side salad which was basic steak burger was not good tasteless fries were like McDonald’s we’re is good fresh food � just my opinion place is nice decorated get food to match the decor and your on to a winner �

nipped in for a drink but was tempted to a salad bowl it was lovely fresh and spicy, great flavour , it's the first time we have been since opening ,beautiful workmanship and décor top notch enthusiastic happy staff it's my husbands birthday so good excuse to go again today.

Had a lovely meal the ribs are to die for love the decor staff very friendly and helpful. Reason for 4 stars don't like that you have to order chips as an extra.

Been here a few times with family and friends, great food , great service and the pub is lovely with a good friendly atmosphere x

A beautifully presented gastropub with an exceptional menu. I ordered the beef shin in coconut curry sauce, the onion Bhajis and the orange tart for pudding. All were absolutely superb as were the other meals that were ordered by my family. The service was friendly and impeccable. A fab find!

The food was ok, nothing special for the prices, but the service was terrible. Staff stood around talking to friends whilst we had used plates sat infront of us for over 45 minutes. We had to seek out a waitress to ask for the dessert menu for the children and this still didnt prompt her to clear the table. The dessert menu never materialized and we left feeling very underwhelmed. Won't be retuning.

Six of us had a lovely lunch today. Two had fish & chips, two had burger and two had ribs. All the meals were fresh and tasty. The staff were very pleasant and helpful and the decor inside is lovely! We would definitely recommend � Thank you!
