We have dined here before and the food was really good. Went today for the all you can eat breakfast and pumpkin carving. The breakfast was excellent and the atmosphere was very relaxed. The staff were attentive and good fun.The pumpkin carving was a brilliant idea!

Nice but very busy pub. Waited about 40 mins for our food to arrive and staff were very polite and friendly. Good and varied menu with plenty of choice. The only two negatives I have is 1. there were kids running around the place and obviously hot food was being served so it could have been an accident waiting to happen and 2. the cutlery was just plonked on a tray and handed to us- I wasn't overly impressed with that.

Lovely place and atmosphere the staff is nice. Food and drinks were nice, dogs are allowed and you have a great area for kids too. Would totally recommend 👌

Came here today for a DS Hive car meet. Tyler was super lovely and helpful, the rooms were clean, great atmosphere and the food was delicious! Would definitely recommend!! 10/10

The setting is lovely and the staff very friendly and helpful. Having a qr code to scan and order is a brilliant idea making the whole thing really easy. The food was lovely and portion sizes are great. I wouldn't recommend the prawn cocktail as the sauce is very watery and not substantial at all.

Came here as was stopping in the travelodge facing came over about 5:20pm and timed it nicely the food was served quick and all staff was very helpful. Possibly one of the nicest burgers me and my partner have ate and very juicy love how it came with a burger sauce as not many places offer this. Also great that they had a offer on main meals. It did become very busy later on due to a quiz they had on. Only negative is the heat was unbearable within the restaurant also heard a lot of other customers saying the same.

The food was excellent, great relaxing atmosphere. The staff were friendly in particular Emma who served us. She went the extra mile and is a credit to the Weavers Whistle. The Managercwas also polite and friendly

Great food made and served by great stuff 😃. 5* from A to Z. The food was excellent and was cooked exactly as I was order it (extra well done). Thanks for all.

I thought I had reviewed this place before, however it is what you expect. Decent pub next to hotel with good selection of beers and food is pretty good for pub food. It does occasionally get busy but not enough that you wouldn't get a seat. There are always tables available. Has a pool table. Great kids area with big room for kids movies and an outdoor play area. Service staff are good particularly George, really nice guy. Can't ask for more in a decent pub

Staff are so friendly and welcoming. Never had a bad experience. Me and my friends always comes here and always have nice food and a good time. Have a pool table so we enjoy going and playing there and it’s nice to have a drink as well. Can’t fault it :)

Enjoyed all the meals while we have been enjoying 30% off. The steaks are always cooked well. Well worth a visit and the staff are always friendly.

Came in this morning for breakfast. Had the cooked breakfast. Very nice, plenty on the plate, all nicely cooked and hot. Also able to go for endless tea and coffee. Pleasantly served by Tyler, friendly happy manager and pleasant when checking if breakfast was OK. Decided to come in a bit later for a drink as it’s sunny. Sat in the beer garden, conveniently able to order on the QR code as well as ordering at the bar. Staff all friendly. Ordered some grazers, very nice and served quickly, and by the young guy Tom who was very pleasant. Worth a visit to this pub. Food, drinks and service all exceptional.

Had my dad's wake here today. The buffet was excellent and Emma looked after us perfectly. They also catered for gluten and dairy allergies, clearly sugning the options and keeping them seperate from the other dishes. Thank you for looking after us on a difficult day.

We took our 3 grandchildren for a treat meal and we found that the staff food and play area and cinema room they all loved. The ages were 6 - 10 and were all full up and happy. The cleanliness of the pub was very good

A much more personal service than you might expect from a chain. Did a great job giving us a relaxed family Christmas get-together when they were already busy with other large parties, bringing extra plates for seconds which was a nice touch. We liked the kids book corner and TV lounge, which helped with the small kids in our group. Rectified an error in the bill quickly.

We were served by a young man called Gary, he was knowledgeable about the Menu and very pleasant mannered. The food was good and served in a reasonable time, We thoroughly enjoyed our visit !

Just visited the Watermead for late lunch got my son a small Carvery I ordered Fish & Chips and a Vegetarian Lasagne. The Carvery was bloody dry meat was dry. The Fish was not existent an the mushy peas dry as powder. The veg lasagne was burnt and a mess. After waiting 30 mins for the food I asked for a full refund an just paid for the drinks. Very disappointed

Terrible carvery food all dried up. Advertise that kids eat for £1 then get charged full price for small plate carvery instead of kids carvery that was asked for and won't refund! Rip off. Rubbish now totally gone downhill from when first opened desperately in need of attention.

We go here quite a lot, it's a nice little place out the way and foods always on point the cakes good to I definitely recommend

Spent £75 on a Sunday roast with my family of 4. The meat was very bland, the veg was hard, the roasties were like rocks and the my sons pizza was just a joke. Ok some might say it’s cheap and quick, but really it’s not. We go the chime in Hartford once a month and it’s usually the same price! There isn’t a service, no one asks how your food is, no one cleans the tables and not one person smiled. Gutted really, it could be such a good place

I'm not local to the area but The Watermead is my go to place for a carvery. I can't comment on the full menu as I'm a really fussy eater so I only ever have the medium plate carvery. My boyfriend and I have been in on various days of the week and at different times of the day/evening and the food has always been lovely and cooked to perfection. The staff have always been friendly and happy to help. They always look happy in their work and nothing is too much trouble for them. There is a warm and welcoming atmosphere and for me, (an anxious person), it's just perfect and one of the few public places I feel totally at home and relaxed in. Oh, and the millionaires chocolate cake...omg, it's heaven

We called in at Lunch time today....service at the bar was excellent (didn't quite catch the gentleman's name but he had a lovely festive jumper on!!! Lol) food was slow coming out considering it wasn't particularly busy but when it did eventually arrive it was quite possibly the nicest burger I've had in a pub...will definitely be back

I visited The Watermead whilst staying at The Travelodge opposite. On both nights the food was excellent. Even though we ate on the busy Quiz night, the food arrived promptly.. The service from the staff was exceptionally good with nothing being a problem. We also sampled breakfast on the Saturday morning When I'm next passing on the M6 I will definitely make the short diversion.

I went for dinner here yesterday, I'd heard it'd got a new manager in so thought I'd give it a try. Previously had a bad experience with the last and left. So my sister and i had the steak and ale pie which was ok for the price and my son choose the carvery. He couldn't get enough of the cauliflower cheese to which he said "that's how it should be". The "homemade" Yorkshire pudding was dry and stale, the gammon tough and tasteless and the veg was no better. It looked like it'd been sat there all day. No one came to ask us if everything was ok with our meals and when the plates were cleared away i told the gentlemen (whom i presumed was the manager) about my son's meal. He said he'd tell the chef and that was that, no other of a desert or refund. We were going to stay for desert but as nobody came back to us we left and bought our own desert from the co op across the road. Maybe if i looked like the fake 6 foot blonde with false tits that came in I'd have got better treatment... I won't be returning any time soon.

This was my first visit to the Watermead, and I was absolutely delighted. The staff were attentive and polite, as well as helpful and good humoured. The food was excellent value and promptly served. I cannot fault my experience.
