Airport is not that big for an airport in London but there are some good shops included food and drinks for an okay price. Also not that chaotic and I like the atmosphere. There are nice employees at this airport which are really friendly. Would recommend this airport to fly to but the downside is that it's far from London but you can have a nice sleep in the bus or taxi to the city center.
If you manage expectations then this place is perfectly fine for you to use for your travels abroad. The flights might not be as frequent as Birmingham or any of the London airports but it is just off the M1 and relatively easy to get to.
I must say that their terminal is better than when I last went to Stansted (Terminal 2). A lot more to choose from and a better variety when it comes to picking where to eat.
Airport staff were friendly and efficient, no complaints.
Well done to all the hardworking ground and air staff at London Luton Airport particularly Ryanair, I travelled with on Sunday 19.12.21.
It has been a difficult and challenging time during the Coronavirus with many changes to travel and additional documentation.
Passengers, please ensure you have the required documents before you travel as it causes unwanted stress to the passengers who have their paperwork in order and are delayed because of you.
Before allowing boarding passengers need to have a negative test either RT-PCR (valid for 72hrs) or Antigen - Lateral flow (valid for 48hrs) taken from recommended practitioner not self-tested at home.
You must have copies of 1st and 2nd vaccination plus booster if available and you must have completed a passenger location form.
If you are not vaccinated you need to have a negative RT-PCR test. Check the website as things changing all the time.
Its probably best if you can print out all the documents as you need internet access to access these at final airport destination i e Knock airport is checking documents on arrival.
You can also upload all the documents to your flight app. As long as you are able to access this, it will be fine. Allow extra time as many passengers missed their flights because of this.
Well done to the staff member (lady) at Ryanair boarding gate number 16 on 19/12/21 who was checking in passengers single handed and still very cheerful and helpful to everyone.
All the staff at London Luton airport work very hard so passengers please be kind.
Cracking little airport!
I live right by Birmingham International so was feeling anxious about having to come down to Luton, now I would definitely recommend it for the sheer ease and convenience of parking, staying and flying all in one place.
The hotel and car park was great, the shuttle transfers were easy to use.
The airport isn't big, but allow plenty of time to get through the initial security maze!
Once past that it's just hang out, chill out and fly out.
There are plenty of facilities to grab food and drink or last minute shopping.
Organised airport with plenty of facilities including a prayer room and special a assistance desk. Many first aid kits and a defibrillator available in the special services area.
Transfer from airport and inside airport well organised.
The unpleasant thing about the airport is that it lacks a quick access zone for pickup and drop off, they make you go trough the main parking and charge 5£ just for driving by.
It’s not massive but for what it is, it’s decent. It has all the shops you would need really, the essentials and so i liked it. Wasn’t too complex.
