The Coffee House

Avoid at weekends I treat myself to breakfast here on a weekday about once a month or so and can’t fault it. Quick service, plenty of room, great food and experienced staff. However, on occasion I make the mistake of giving it a go after a weekend walk and always leave disappointed. Staffing never seems sufficient, and those that are there seem to be mixed with “work experience” level staff. Ok so they have to train people at some point, but I’d say another time would be better, a busy weekend would really benefit from the best people serving. As the village swells with people at the weekend, looking for somewhere to eat after a trip round the village it just ends up with queues out the door and long waits for the sighing customers, who just want a drink and bite to eat. So weekdays, brilliant, weekends, yet to enjoy it.

Amazing service off all the staff today. The courgette and thyme soup was lush 😋🤤. My daughter enjoyed her cheese burger and chips tasted just like when my gran used to cook them in chip pan just divine, followed by the chocolate cake which she said looked like Bruce Bogtrotters cake off the film Matilda & was demolished within minutes. Definitely be visiting again.

Mixed emotions that's would sum my visit up. Amazing, very friendly and professional staff, clean surroundings, quick service. Nice coffee. However... the full English didnt really live up to expectations-tasty but very hard to cut sausages, so so bacon, rushed cook mushrooms, very nicely cooked eggs. Not sure if will try food again, coffee on the other hand is one to go for🤗
