Probably the best pub in Macclesfield! The staff are really welcoming and friendly, and the team that Sally runs is very professional at the same time. The menu is extensive, with excellent choice of daily specials each day. The service is quick and efficient, given the fact that quite often there are plenty of people there. It is 'more than' dog friendly, going out of their way to fuss dogs, and provide water and treats. Outside covered seating is available for the warmer days - and being able to eat outdoors just adds to the overall experience. And the food is always freshly prepared, superbly tasty and never disappoints. As a pensioner I really appreciate the smaller portion Sunday Roast - excellent!
So - if you haven't been then put it on your list - you will probably end up regulars like us - but at busy times, like weekends, you need to book to avoid disappointment!
Great pub good food, excellent staff, a really nice place
This was a lovely quiet pub (week night when I went) Lovely people behind the bar. Lovely food, with a wide range on offer and lots of specials. Just the right level service, helpful, polite but not overly nagging you for next course or drink.
Probably only minor point is due to narrow street there is only on street parking. but spaces usually 300m up the road.

Super helpful staff - gave great recommendations. Veggie rissotto was great and meat eater friends raved about the pork. Lovely old pub. Nice beers. What is not to like. Just a little more custard with the lovely plum crumble please π
Unfortunately we forgot to take a photo until weβd practically demolished the meal but it was really tasty. Friendly staff, good food at a reasonable price and really fast service which was much appreciated as we were starving.
I did an event here on a theme night, amazing people and staff! What a gorgeous pub! And Emily Kat and Paul such friendly hosts! Great atmosphere! Check this place out!!! Hopefully see you soon again! π
10/10. Stopped for a random pint and came back a few hours later as the atmosphere is so nice. Ordered onion rings, lamb kofta, scampi, sponge pudding and Madri. Absolutely fantastic. The landlord Paul is running a great pub and amazing bar staff. Will be back very soon!! Also brought our dog, treats provided and a very cute outdoor seating area ππ½ππ½ππ½
Had an impromptu Sunday lunch with wife and granddaughter aged 2 and nothing was too much trouble despite them being busy. Excellent food including kids meal which has ice cream dessert included in the price. And Timothy Taylor's Landlord too. Also provided colouring paper and pencils. Will definitely be back
We'd booked for 11 people as a lunch stop on a canal boat trip, so couldn't be sure of timings or even how many people until the day before. We were asked to put our order in the day before or latest the morning of our visit, which was fine, and everything not only went very smoothly, but was really delicious. They do a smallish (but not too small) menu extremely well. Service was excellent too. Thanks so much.
Just stopped for a quick lunch and both my wife and myself were really impressed. Best steak sandwich I've had in ages, chips and salads also great. Good solid pub food but really well done. Nothing too fancy and really well priced also. Great service and a nice spot in the sunshine outside. Parking could be better but we parked about 150 yards away on the road and walked, so not a massive issue. Will defo go again!!
