Thank you for making us feel so welcome. This is a beautiful pub. Staff were amazing. Went with grandson who is autistic and they were fantastic with him. Food was lovely. Veggie roast dinner was spot on. Best roast potatoes I've had. Well worth a visit. Will definitely be going back again.

Couldn't recommend this place enough. Lovely canal walk ending here on a Saturday night. Warm and welcoming atmosphere. So very friendly. Food AMAZING and the gin was delicious too. Hope to come back sometime because that menu there was not one item on there I wouldn't have ordered!!!! Nothing better than an evening walk and finding this beautifully lit pub on the way! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Food was lovely, service was 100% spot on.
Always go above an beyond for our nephew (allergic to the world!!)
Play area always a win with our littler ones and Daddy's!

First visit with our 3 yo and 8 yo, was greeted by warm and friendly staff. Drinks and meal came in good time. Couldnt fault the food or the staff. A pleasant surprize after food walking into the garden to find a superb play area for the kids. A few bits of the play equipment was out of order, but plenty still to enjoy. Great Atmosphere, will be back.

Called in as passing on the canal, despite being very busy the staff were fantastic and managed to find us a table. The was fantastic, the staff very friendly. Would recommend to anyone who is in the area.

We came to The Running Horses on 17th July, as we hadn’t booked, the Manager and staff were brilliant and accommodated us. The service was excellent and they were so lovely as my mum struggles with some disabilities. The food was really really nice and would recommend to anyone going there for drinks, food and the beer garden outside. Highly recommend, can’t thank them enough

Very nice place with a very friendly atmosphere too, food was very good and also very hot and fresh too. Not your normal pub grub this place is a good few levels up from that. Looks like we will deffo be going back maybe sooner rather than later. Live to go around Christmas time too as looks very cozy and delightful too. Make sure you visit soon ......

Food was good pub grub. But the staff are so friendly and the menu is very generous and designed to let kids get good food over the summer holidays for nothing or next to nothing.
The kids' play area is enjoyed by the little ones.

Pub and location great. Shame about the staff and food waited for seems like age for food got the wrong order went to the bar because the guy who brought the food had gone before I could say excuse me , this wasn't what I ordered the guy apologised and got me the right meal no tomatoes or onion rings on my husband's meal as menu stated food awful cheap food over priced just like they'd been to Herons and got loads of frozen stuff in. I had to ask again the young lad was run ragged and never ask do you want anything else like sauce or enjoy your meal. All staff about 10 of them behind the bar, seemed young with no experience no one came out from behind the bar to check if everyone was ok or to clean tables. It's just a shame ruined a great summer evening down by the canal

Living nearby, we’re desperate for this place to be our local. Beautiful location, great beer garden, cozy inside and the best play area. We’ve been a few times now and have had long waits for food and drinks and always had to sit on tables full of dirty glasses & plates. Please invest in more staff & make this pub great

I would recommend not to eat there as we were just served four incredibly poor meals and we left very unsatisfied , the children’s meal was the worst mash chips and beans , the mash was totally inedible the sausages were burnt and remarkably even the beans were somehow destroyed in the cooking or should I say heating up process .
Apart from the location I this pub has nothing going for it and that includes the unhelpful staff.

Very dissapointing yet again!! We have tried a few times but each time something has been wrong. Last night we asked how long the wait was for food we were told Half an hour...we waited over an hour. The pub wasn't busy so I imagine they do not cope well when it is busy. The tables outside were cluttered with glasses and plates and clearly hasn't been cleared for some time. They always strike me as being extremely understaffed. I wanted a chicken burger my husband went to order and came back to say they have no chicken at all!! When the food finally came my husbands fish was burnt to a crisp and served with garden peas and not mushy peas like he had ordered...the waitress then said sorry we haven't got any mushy peas left! We had waited so long we said we don't want another meal we will just have a refund. It's a real shame it could be a lovely place but we certainly won't be returning not to eat anyway.

Such a lovely pub and nice staff but so badly managed it's a shame. 10 minutes to get a drink, people were walking in and walking back out again on Sunday and over an hours wait for food. This is becoming the norm on a Sunday in the Runnies sadly 😩😩

Great pub in lovely position it’s had a refurb,but it’s different food now .the waiting time for food is far to long and you get what you pay for .if you want really really good food and service then try the scarisbrick hotel just up the road from us past the scotch pipers .it is more expensive then again you get what you pay for .

Minute we walked in told there was a 45 minute wait for food. We asked could the kids meals come out with the starter. Bare in mind the starter was only bread and we still waited over an hour. I had to buy crisps to try and tide the kids over. One of the kids with us fell asleep we waited that long, which is probably a good thing because the food was horrific. The macaroni cheese was frozen, plain pasta with grated cheese. Poor service too. Never ever will we go back. The chef came out of the kitchen staring at us because we complained, think he should of carried on cooking then maybe there wouldn't be hours waits on food in an empty pub.

Disappointed again, we always give this place the benefit of the doubt as food is usually great (when we do eventually get it). We came today ordered drinks sat at an empty table (although it was dirty and the floor was full of food). Waited at the bar for 10mins to order drinks, went to order the food only to be told they had stopped serving as they were too busy???? This was 6.30pm??? The dining area was empty (although none of the tables had been cleared or cleaned) nobody ordering food and the tables outside (were it was busy) looked like they had already ate as they're tables all had empty plates which hadn't been taken away. Not ever have I been to a place and told no food due to being busy, maybe a 30-45 wait I would understand??? Last time we went there were no chips and on two other occasions no electricity. So sad as such a lovely place to go, the problem here is they are under-staffed and always have been. I bet the Chain they are now joined to wouldn't be happy!!!
