Spoons #117, Looked nice when we approached, but first impressions were soon spoilt, sat on the terrace no smoking area, not controlled….. so smoking.
Tables were dirty, sauce all over table and chairs, tables inside were no better, we requested a table wipe, ignored…
Wine glasses had lipstick and other marks on, not my shade
Couldn’t use the app for table service as there were no table numbers
Interesting display indoors representing mr Hornby the founder of Mecano and Hornby trains,
Was very busy with the sun out and they seemed to be short staffed.
Unusually there was free car parking on the premises
We were put off eating due to the poor housekeeping
cheap drink (and cold, perfect for hot days) nice place (I recommend outside), staff really helpful.
Good really. One of the better Wetherspoons. I ordered a hot sandwich but people were finished meals before it came. Nice tho.
Came for tea and it was fish and chip friday! Excellent value nice size fish and hot!! Had choice of garden or mushy peas, I chose none. Had with a disbury gin! Lovely pub with all the photos from meccano and the Hornby family!! Food still good and have good meals of the day on!! One of the better spoons I have been too.
Had the small cod and chips. More than enough, non greasy batter and crunchy chips. Lovely.
Stopped of there for a quick drink,rounded the day off perfectly.
One of the better Weatherspoons we,ve been to.
So much so that we are making a point of going back there in the very near future for something to eat and a drink.
We are looking forward to it.
The staff member who served us was knowledge able on the ales which they had in and extremely friendly.
Again definitely one of the better spoons in every respect.
The food that we had seen being served looked spot on.
Plus there was a fir few people eating there.
It just looked a really nice place.
Well worth a visit!

Unusual but we had to make 4 choices before we found a "Real Ale" that was available. To be fair we were told that the delivery was late - It arrived while we were eating; the Food, as always, excellent value - I suggest you find a table and choose food before getting a drink, as many items on the menu include a drink within the cost.
I've no doubt we will be meeting here again in the not too distant future.
Breakfast was lovely however they forgot the hashbrowns so not five stars im afraid 🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️
Worth a look and should be on turest map. The in side grabs a man fulll and history of liverpool lost gives you cry 😢 how we lost our productivity
