Popped in here for a pre-meal drink. The pub is nicely decorated although the seating arrangements were strange. I think the benches had been moved to allow for a band later in the day. Tables were rustic but a bit rickety - lean too hard and your drink will spill! Friendly bar staff and full range of Shepherd Neame beers alongside other drinks.

Stopped to sample the small plates menu as had heard positive things. Absolutely loved it, brilliant service, well presented food and great value at 5 plates for £28. Enough for two people.

Had the most amazing food here pre England match. Was passing through after touring holiday around Kent. Made to feel so welcome by Claire. She chatted to us and went out her way to ensure we were happy with our food and that the chef made allowances for food allergy. The food was superb. The service was worthy of the highest award! The staff were all so happy to be there, they were jolly, friendly and came across like a big happy family. Just loved it. Recommend to the highest possible degree! Go!

Lively venue with a band playing. Managed to get drinks pretty quick. Nice quieter area at the back, but could still hear the band.
Nice toilets that had very cool taps

We sat on the roof terrace for lunch. The food and service were good. The roof was quite shady at that time of day (afternoon). There was a big, noisy fan attached to the building (something to do with ventilation or cooling in the building, not one for moving the air around customers) that kept turning itself on, which made the terrace less peaceful.

Refreshing pub food; what Market House does is take the concept of eating in at a pub in a different direction and I like it.
It feels new, it’s only been a year since it was last refurbed. The restaurant section is humble, comfy, with loads of scatter cushions adorning the seating. The kitchen is visible too, which is cool and uncommon in a pub setting.
Service is split between the pub and restaurant, it’s humble and caring. Food was delivered quickly.
The food, I thought was bloody brilliant. What a great selection of dishes. Me, being fussy when it comes to choice had lots to tickle the taste buds. Their 5 starters for £22 is a winner and something that more pubs should have. It’s the pub’s equivalent of tapas.
All food looked beautiful, well done Shepherd Neame chef. My pick of the dishes was the duck and sweet potato croquet.
Refreshing, quality food, excellent value for money. The best pub food in Maidstone town centre.
The Whisperer
A lovely pub with very pleasant staff. Nice social ground floor bar with long tables getting people to mix. There is a smaller room upstairs with its own bar (wasn't open when we were there) which leads on to a roof top beer garden. The staff were lovely. The Guinness was excellent as was the Spitfire.

Pulled pork is amazing. Would recommend the loaded chorizo fries.
Went back Friday night, great atmosphere with a local band playin. Cod and chips were perfect.

My partner and I held our engagement party at The Market House in the rentable upstairs room last night. The staff were so, so accommodating and created such an amazing space for the party. Hayley worked on the bar for our families for the whole night; she was so patient, professional and kind. The set up was exactly what I wanted and was so beautiful. Thank you so much for everything! I’d 100% recommend holding an intimate event here.

A Great Pub To Visit For A Few Drinks & Some Good Ole Pub Grub.
We Enjoyed The Food, Which Is A Great Price & Tastes Great... Good Selection Of Comfort Food, Open Sandwiches & Snacks!
Smooth Service From Happy, Attentive Staff & A Great Selection Of Beer, Craft, Spirits & Cocktails. Shepherd Neame Selection & More... Bear Island Is A Great Pint Of Gold!
I Remember This House As The Former Pub & This Is A Welcome Re Image That Expands The Environment, With Reclaimed Material & Brings It Up To Date With The Well Placed Alternative Decor, Open Upper Terrace & Market Building Style.
I Enjoyed The Picanha Steak, Which Was Cooked To Perfection! My Wife Loved The Marinated Chicken & We Both Enjoyed Drinks In The Warm Friendly Atmosphere.
Don’t Forget This Pub Supports Live Music & This Is A Great Addition To Enjoy... We Need To Support Up & Coming Bands & There Is Nothing Better Than Seeing A Band Hit The Boards While You Enjoy Good Company & A Good Old Pint Or Two!
A Great Place For Couples, Friends & Music Lovers!

Visited here with my 2 buddies yesterday and I must say I had one of the best Meals I have had in a long time.
The Pork belly was superb, (sorry to hear that it's coming off the menu as I'd willingly pay more if needed).

Lovely refurbishment on what used to be Earls. So much more light and airy. Great outside deck will be fab in the sunshine. Interesting menu, tapas style nibbles, tortilla wraps perfect for lunch and proper steak and chips. Great drinks menu and the live music continues. Definitely worth a visit!

It's a great pub that does proper food, has good entertainment, and good priced beer and lager, the staff are very friendly and polite. Only trouble I have I like Earls so much I keep missing my bus.

A very nice refurbishment. Comfortable with very friendly, helpful staff. My main disappointment was there wasn't a desert menu.......think that would encourage more folk to dine tree. Although I enjoyed my meal and the ambience I would think twice about going again as I feel the eating experience wasn't complete.
Rachel Sharp
Love the new look and the food is amazing Defo worth a visit!

Loved the music and the staff were lovely only downfall about this place is the size for the amount of people in it couldn't move and to have the toilet beside the dance floor was mad as u had to walk though a mosh pit of people to get there with drinks in your hand x
