Great food, reasonable prices, great location. The staff were lovely and very professional. Harvey's beer excellent. Will visit again. A stand out treat for me was the wonderful onion rings with the sausage and mash! The halloumi burger was fabulous. Service was quick.

Quintessentially a lovely 17th Century Inn that is just slightly off the main road, but not difficult to find. Has a certain ambience and the food ordered was superb, good service also (would have given it 5 stars, but it lost the final point because of when asking for the bill I was given the total amount, then when I paid was given the receipt which showed me that this included a 10% optional service charge, which of course wasn't given the option, that was naughty business practice). Apart from that, also has a nice spacious outside garden side area

First time eating here and very impressed. Always difficult for me eating out, as I'm intolerant of gluten and dairy (mainly milk and cheese). I was so pleased to see several possibilities on the menu and also highlighted. I chose the GF fish & chips simply because for me its a rare treat, I was not disappointed. Thank you, we'll be back....

Lovely pub, friendly staff, great food and nice variety of drinks. Breakfast is amazing too! What more can you ask for?

This is The Pub for a perfect Friday post-work beer. Nelson's and Neck Oils, what more could you ask for?
Just always remember, no vaping dogs.
Spinning them in down the Babbling on Friday? Be rude not to.

Lovely Sunday roast and friendly table service let down by all male regulars sat along the length of the bar, so only able to order at the far end and they were loud and quite distracting from what would have been a perfect Sunday afternoon pub visit.

I’ve often popped into this pub for a drink and/or snack after a walk from Maidstone along the beautiful Loose Valley. It’s a lovely pub with a relaxed atmosphere with excellent service and friendly staff. Great sandwiches too! Thank you to all the staff at the Chequers

I would like to thank Shaw and all the team at The Chequers Inn for putting on a wonderful wake for my Mum. It was her favourite place which holds so many memories for all our family and friends. They put on a buffet which was fantastic, and all family and friends enjoyed reminiscing about old times. The standard of food and the service we received was truly exceptional. They kindly packed what was left of the buffet for us to take home which we all enjoyed with some guests at home later in the evening. Shaw and his team were so accommodating right from when I first made the call to ensure we could book for that day, and we felt so looked after all the way through.
Definite 5 ***** rating.
Thank you, our day could not have been more perfect.
Fay and all the Carrington family.

Never visited before, just searched Google for places to eat on our way home. Very welcoming, sometimes in small pubs, can feel like its locals only , but wasn't the case. Nice menu and food was good. Would definitely revisit.

A very nice building in a picturesque village. Staff friendly and service quick. Not too pricey. Sits by a stream where kids can paddle. Large outdoor seating area with enclosed grassy area for kids to play in. Interior barely changed from the way I remember it on family outings in the 70s and 80s. Very nice pub for a family outing. Sits in a valley with very steep hills both sides to get back to the main road.

Came here for lunch on a Saturday. Set in a lovely location with good walks nearby. Wasn't particularly busy which was perfect to have a good selection of seating and fast service. In my view the food menu isn't particularly inspiring but everything we had was freshly prepared and well cooked. Great for children, particularly because of the ice cream machine and milkshakes.

Recently moved to the area and decided to eat here for my sons birthday- he loved the southern fried chicken burger and my salmon nicoise was a generous portion and very tasty. Hubie said lasagne was good and I'd definitely have the breaded Brie again! Lovely staff, quick service and jolly nice proper pub 😊👍🏼

Sat in the Chequers pub for a Sunday lunch with my other half and child. The food was beautiful and service was quick. The staff are the friendliest staff I've ever met in a pub, very polite and very attentive. We will defiantly be coming here again

This evening my husband and I had the best meal out for ages.... the pub was homely... the food was gorgeous.... the service from dawn was fantastic and the atmosphere was perfect.... Will definitely be returning.... it was the first pub we have been to where people were actually socialising and drinking just like years ago ... it was a great evening...
Hannah Hayward
The garden was a real let down ... was a real mess ... such a shame as love the pub and the food.

Good food , fast friendly service, however menu is rather small, The Chequers is in a beautiful location especially in the summer with the shallow stream running next to it with beer garden for families ,

We went for lunch and had an excellent time. We sat out in the beer garden with our dogs for a wonderful afternoon. I have the salmon en croute which was really good and my husband had pie of the day. The staff were all really lovely and even thought we did sit outside they came to check that all was OK. I will definitely be back. Thank you.

Fantastic food and very good value for money. The summer pudding dessert was one of the best I have had anywhere. Can't wait to come back
