Delicious food. Great Service. Friendly Staff. Lovely relaxed atmosphere. Affordable.
I went with 2 friends. We all tasted a bit of each other's food. We shared a mixed platter between the 3 of us. We all had a different 'special' main, with a different rice. And all had a dessert. Everything was absolutely delicious (apart from the little fragrant fishcake things in the platter, which were just a little bit odd for me)
And as a non-drinker I tried their 2 different types of Thai Cream Soda. A green one, and a Strawberry one... And OH MY GOD! The green one!... I could have drank a gallon of it!... if you like a tasty sweet drink, you will LOVE this! Tasted a bit like fruity bubblegum??
The only down side is that it is a CASH ONLY restaurant. Which we knew in advance, luckily. And there IS a clear sign on the door before you enter, which prompts you to go to a cash-point first, if you need to.
A share of the mixed platter, a special main with an extra rice, and a dessert, came to £30.
Cream Soda are £2.50 each.
DEFINITELY going back!!
Best restaurant experience I've had for a while. From booking over the phone until the actual meal, the whole process was brilliant and easy from start to finish.
Very welcoming, and very flexible to cater for 10 people that I wanted for my fiances birthday meal.
Food was amazing, and staff were polite and friendly throughout the whole meal.
Absolutely no complaints from all, and they even were gracious enough to sing happy birthday to my fiance.
Would definitely recommend and go again!
We came without the booking and got a big table with round sofa near the window. Which was very nice as we were just 2 of us and there were smaller tables available.
Our bill was £82: starter, 2 ciders, 1 Jinro bottle, 2 mains. Service was very fast, from taking the order to serving us our food.
We had a shared starter, main each and a drink. Total was £70. So about £30-35 per person. Good food and good service. Very friendly. Nice atmosphere and good space between tables. Would recommend.
We were looking for a place to eat on a Monday evening around 9:30pm - which isn't the easiest thing to do in Maidstone.
This Thai restaurant was quite empty, but the waitress kindly received us. We opted for a variety of starters (gyoza, dim sum, etc...) and some traditional chicken plates as main. The service professional and kind; the food was good. I'll probably pass by again in the weekend when it's a bit more crowded.
Me and my partner had a wonderful meal last night. Very personal service and wonderful authentic Thai food. Lovely atmosphere and a night to remember! We will certainly be back!
Authentic Thai Food in Kent

Overall : 4.6 / 5
Would definitely come again.
I’ve been to South East Asia , and Thailand multiple times travelling, experienced lots of food around there. I can say Thai Rice Club is the most authentic Thai Resturant I’ve had in the UK. A dim lit bar style Resturant , resembling sort of a Creams style ice cream dessert Resturant, this Thai restaurants presentation aesthetically wouldn’t be something you expect to see from a Thai Resturant.
Service was decent, polite staff, with warm hospitality.
The food menu had a great deal of selections to choose from, a mixture of Thai favourites, good selection of drinks, alcoholic drinks were rather pricy but what do you expect for city centre and also in Kent.
Ordered a mixture of Thai starters, classics : chicken satay, chili squid, papaya salad and pancake roll - all cooked well, satay chicken cook be thicker and not faltened chicken. Papaya salad could have been spicier but was perfection, flavourful , sweet, sour and spicy , perfect.
Main : Thai green curry, pad Thai and spicy stir fry noodles and morning glory, all cooked very well, authentic , flavourful, tasty , had all the flavours that you would expect.
Definitely would go again.
Amazing authentic food, if you are after a Thai meal you would be stupid to walk past this place. Brilliant service, the duck curry is a must try!
Very personal service. Excellent food!
Even gave a children's plate which is the first time I've seen a restaurant do that. Amazing. Highly recommend.
Lovely place. Very comfortable. Clean. Tidy. Service is good. Good is lovely. Spicy dishes aren't really spicy. They should abandon the "western pallet can't handle this" approach, and give us the real heat. Also, don't order salads unless you're obsessed with overly salty and zesty dish.
We had a late lunch here on Bank Holiday Monday.. There were 3 of us. It was the best Thai meal we have eaten for a long time. The food was cooked fresh. The flavours were amazing.. I would definitely go again when visiting our Granddaughter
I scratched my head sitting their in the fantastic Gaab Kao restaurant. It is conveniently located on the high street. The interior neon light detailing is straight out of Bangkok. The staff are lovely, helpful and attentive. There is loads of comfy toasty seating. The menu is extensive and offers traditional Thai dishes and a range of specials to suit you herbivore, carnivore or pescatarian needs. The menu even includes a huge list of allergen details associated with the dishes.
So what about quality and value for money? It ticks both boxes admirably.
I can only think it lacks customers during the week is because of the competition. Anyway, all the better for diners that do decide to go. You can happily stretch out and enjoy beautifully prepared Thai food in a trendy, sociable environment.
