A really good gluten free menu, finally in a chain pub restaurant.
We visited at lunchtime and had a lovely meal, with lovely staff and Well cooked food. Another plus was using Tesco Clubcard vouchers , making it a very good value meal. ( Watch out for the exclusions on Clubcard vouchers)
We will definitely be back.
We went for our boxing day meal which we had pre ordered, 2 of the party had the rib or beef and 1 had the turkey all the food was perfectly cooked and very delicious and waitress was friendly and polite. There was a bit of confusion at the end with our bill which we thought we had pre paid by cheque but turned out the cheque hadn't been received. The new manger was really apologetic and as a good will gesture took a bottle of wine off the bill which was very kind of him couldn't fault his service even with all the confusion! Would definitely come here again food was lovely! ☆☆☆☆☆
Scrumptious gawjus food celebrated my son 48th Birthday treat to say spoilt for choice menu is an understatement.. Super friendly staff, lovely atmosphere, and best of all No music so you could just chat laugh and eat..will be back...
Well what can I say but the staff were welcoming and very friendly. As for for the food five stars all round one of the best meals I have had in while, just the right amount of time between courses and not rushed. So will be visiting again.
Had a lovely three course. Did have an unusual experience at table 13!!! Glass of water jumped off the table - no explanation glass was smashed but upright. Was a bit spooked by it, but food was lovely
There are a couple of things that we would change next time while booking a table (which we definitely will do). For example the table where we were sitting was near the path where staff members and people walk, and sideways to the entrance door, and as I am always cold, it was chilly for me. Despite all that, it is a beautiful pub with amazing cooks that prepared our meals yesterday. We came here for lunch and dinner. Both times the food amazed us. Like you see in the pictures, everything was absolutely vanished.
The other thing was the toilet, I am tiny but it was so hard to squeeze to close the door 😁 And I suggest putting a sign that that first toilet is not in working condition.
Desserts we ordered were brownie and caramel sundae which were so filling. We came out so full and satisfied by the food. Service was good but not super because they had only two waiters, so we had to wait for a bill but the waitress and all staff were helpful. Thank you so much!

Nice place, seem to be more food customer orientated than drinks customers, but saying that, it is a chef and brewer. Staff are really friendly and even though there is a separate "bar" and "dining area" are pretty accommodating if you're already seated.
Not the first time here. Excellent lunch. Recommend the beef slow cooked on the bone. Partner had the turkey roast and enjoyed. Good choice of starters and wine
Had a fantastic time ,great staff, very attentive, nothing was to much trouble. Took a picture of one staff member ,had to he looked very smart. Sorry Sharon hope his ego didn't run away with him. Lol
Can highly recommend this venue. Staff with a fantastic sense of humour and the food was super. Thank you guys for a lovely lunchtime.
Food was good. Main criticism is that every signature drink we asked for they couldn't make as they had sold out of various ingredients to make them. Service was good and young man was very attentive so can't fault on that side.
Can only heap praise on this lovely oldy world bar and restaurant. Very cosy place with lovely wooden beamed ceilings and gentle music in the background. Staff were very friendly and attentive even though they got quite busy. Our server Sharon was especially friendly and helpful. As for the food can only say excellent, plenty of choices and very well cooked. Will definitely be a place we'll visit again.
We were served by the lovely Shirley who despite having a broken toe had come into work as they were short staffed. With only two people serving the restaurant she was rushed off her feet but still stayed positive and was smiling and chatty.
She did a marvellous job and hope she’s appreciated because that level of service is hard to find.

I can see why this place is packed, even on a Monday evening. It is in a prime location and full of lovely, warm staff. Yeah, the food is good, the interior is modern and comfy and it has a great range of drinks. It is the sociable atmosphere that people will keep coming back for.
Lovely food! We had Sunday roast and dessert. It was enjoyed by all of us. Staff were super friendly. We’ll definitely be visiting again
After arriving in a whim already stressed due to being let down by another eatery, my partner and I arrived approx 8pm with little hope.
By some luck, we were greeted by a lovely, smiling individual named Shirley. Shirley had been an absolute star, making sure we were well looked after, even some time after her shift had ended. She was always positive during interactions and made sure we had everything we needed. The food was amazing, came out hot and well presented.
My partner and I were both over the moon despite a negative start to our evening, and this is all thanks to Shirley. She is an absolute asset to your team, and we wouldn’t hesitate to return. Thank you Chiltern Hundreds!
What a delightful place to while away an hour or two on my own! Lovely wine and very friendly service. (No food comment as I didn’t eat but it smelled great).
This restaurant is my absolute favourite place, I can't get enough of the food!
The staff are amazing, always making sure yuur happy with everything yuu have ordered, always a great atmosphere everytime i go & I've never been disappointed with anything, 🤗😃
Good food and atmosphere however there were only 2 members of staff dealing with both the restaurant & bar who were rushed off their feet. They were both pleasant and doing their best but there were gaps in the service because of this.
Good place to eat while we waited for our car to charge. No complaints and it's great having such a place so close to some chargers. Moves the chargers here up on our list of where to stop next time we are heading this way.
