We came here for a meal to bring both family’s and friends together before our wedding and the team at the trout made everything run so smoothly for such a large group. The pub itself was lovely and we managed to have a section of the pub to ourselves, the food was great and even with a few extra guests last minute they handled everything smoothly. All the staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome, thank you so much!!
Lovely country location with a nice selection of local beers and ciders. Relatively limited menu but the quality of the food was exceptional and the breakfast was no exception - probably the hottest, freshest hotel breakfast I've ever had.
The room I had (Luke's Tree) was very comfortable with a large bed, huge vaulted ceilings and a well equipped, modern bathroom.
I'd certainly have no hesitation in staying here again if I need to stay in the area in future.
Absolutely perfect!! We had a meal in the restaurant (a beef roast) which tasted amazing (and plenty on the plate)! We stayed overnight and was not disappointed! The room was spacious and beautifully decorated. The bathroom was just as amazing with lovely touches (shampoo, body wash etc). Coffee and teas available with delicious biscuits. The room was quiet and you could not hear any noise from downstairs or outside.
The staff were friendly, professional and attentive. We were made to feel very welcome and will be going back.
A note for dog lovers - Dogs are welcome at the hotel. It was lovely to see people with their dogs being able to enjoy the afternoon/evening playing board games (the people not the dogs! 🙂).

Lovely little Inn with a great menu. We were there for breakfast and the staff was very helpful and polite. The food was delicious, the service was excellent and high quality. Will visit again for lunch or dinner.

Food was delicious and the garden was beautiful with a lovely outdoor tent, romantic vibes. However it was quite a wait for the food, considering it didn't seem busy. Overall very pleased.
Popped by for a swift half and stayed for a lovely roast dinner. I had the lamb, not a fatty or chewy piece in any mouthful. The significant other had pork and states "its the best roast dinner in a pub he has EVER had"!
The only downside (and not the pubs fault) is that it's not in walking distance to home and a little difficult to get to via public transport.
They also do a couple of different lagers and ales which sets it aside from the rest.
Oh, and the staff, polite, friendly and helpful.
We will return!

Room "lukes tree" is very clean . All the staff are very welcoming and cheerful .
Food is amazing ,well cooked and flavours hmmmm . Yum yum

Only thing I could be really picky about is the doors in the accomodation could have something added to stop them from slamming/ banging , but to be honest I did go bed early but after 11pm I didn't hear any noise . Just being picky Tbh .

Would give more than 5 stars if I could. Please go to the tickled trout if you have the opportunity. Loved our stay here. They catered for our every needs from before our check in, until afterwards. We booked all 6 rooms for a wedding and Mark was extremely efficient and welcoming to every guest. He personally showed us all to our rooms individually, ran through the amenities and then left us to it. I hadn’t thought to book tables for evening meals for everyone checking in, but Mark emailed me in the morning to ask if we would be needing space and advised he would get extra staff in to cover this. There were 23 of us in the end and the service and food was exceptional. Mark was very accommodating and made our stay an absolute dream. Could not rate him highly enough. An extra shout out to the chef, Marshall as well who kept the kitchen open for me (the groom) on the morning of the wedding as, in his words, “it’s your special day too!” He gave me special presentation for my food which I thought was a lovely gesture. The morning after the wedding, Marshall gave us a slightly larger portion stating “you don’t need to fit into any clothes anymore” a fantastic touch and really made us laugh. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming, the service was excellent, the food was delicious and the rooms were delightful.
