We were 4 starving people disappointed by another restaurant that just walked in into your restaurant. We discovered the best Indian food we have ever tasted accompanied by great service. We will become regulars 100%. It was our first time but definitely not the last time.

Wow! Congratulations to the new owners! Forget the boring menu that’s just a version of all the others this is something special!! (although you can still order your old favourites!) Everything fresh makes a massive difference! Had a late impromptu dinner and tried the Lamb Fondue which is off the scale when it comes to taste and experience, absolutely delicious and if you enjoy a beer you have to try the authentic Punjabi beer called Flying Buffalo! A family restaurant where you get looked after way beyond typical expectations! Thank you and here’s to many more good times! Lovely people, can’t wait to try some more of the menu👌🏻

A dinner delight @chutneyhouseuk : A Perfect Blend of Victorian Ambiance and Authentic Indian Cuisine. Located on the bustling high street of Maldon, set in a magnificent 18th-century building, the rooms and gardens @chutneyhouseuk stands as a testament to fine dining and culinary excellence. With its extraordinary Victorian ambiance and an extensive menu of authentic Indian delicacies, the restaurant offers an unforgettable experience for food enthusiasts seeking a fusion of rich flavors and elegant surroundings. As I stepped into @chutneyhouseuk , I was immediately transported back in time to the Victorian era. The attention to detail in recreating the ambiance of that era is commendable. From the exquisite chandeliers and vintage wall décor to the ornate furniture, every element exudes a sense of grandeur. The dim lighting creates an intimate atmosphere, perfect for a romantic evening or a sophisticated gathering. We were greeted with an exuding warmth, hospitality and guided to our table with grace. @chutneyhouseuk specializes in traditional Indian cuisine. The menu is an extensive compilation of regional dishes, showcasing the diverse culinary heritage of India. We had Complimentary Pappadam with various condiments to go. The flavorful okra masala in a tomato sauce, infused with a perfect balance of spices. Next, I indulged in the biryani, a rice dish layered with succulent pieces of chicken, fragrant spices, and aromatic basmati rice. And the soft fluffy plain naan breads for okra masala. I highly recommend @chutneyhouseuk to anyone who appreciates fine dining and wishes to embark on a culinary journey through the rich culture of Indian cuisine.

Stopped for a fixed price lunch and we were not disappointed. Lovely tasty freshly cooked food. Friendly attentive staff that were not intrusive. The interior is very well decorated. All in all a very pleasant experience and we are looking to return soon for an evening meal..

We luckily chose to go to Chutney House on the spur of the moment. The welcome was warm & friendly. we were shown to nice sofas & drinks tables. We found the atmosphere to be very relaxing. We weren't rushed giving us time to ask the waiter what he would recommend for each of us. The menu is different from the usual take-aways & restaurants, the red onion & mango bhajis are the best onion bhaji I've ever had, in fact all the food was AMAZING! We've been looking for a 'go to' Indian Restaurant for a while, Chutney House is 'the one' for us, our search is over.

To begin we were taken outside to a courtyard for drinks, decor could do with an upgrade outside but still a nice touch. We then moved inside for our meal, where it started to get busier. We ordered a few dishes and a sharing platter for starter which were very tasty, but the menu could have done with some clearer descriptions. Some dishes were explaining the origins or local facts, but not wether they were a wet or dry curry, spice level etc. This made it hard to order, and then service began to get slower. Staff kept forgetting to bring more of our main course, whilst the people next to us hadn’t even received their starters so I think we got off lightly! The bill was asked for and we waited 30 minutes for the card machine, I got up to find someone and they said they’d be over and never did, then all staff were nowhere to be seen so it wasn’t for not trying! That put a dampener on a very delicious meal, so although the food was great (especially the tarka dahl) service could have been improved.

We went on a Tuesday evening, so it wasn't busy at all. We had the Drawing Room all to ourselves. The experience was great: the restaurant is richly decorated, the service excellent and the food to die for! Would definitely go again if I were a local, highly recommend.

Stunning meal. First visit to Chutney House, everything was wonderful. We love a good Indian restaurant, and this was hands down the nicest we’ve been to. The decor is lovely, service spot on and food was just perfect. Looking forward to my next visit already.

wonderful restaurant on Maldon High Street serving high quality indian cuisine - cannot fault the ambience, food and service - the Mango chicken and Laal Maas along with the incredibly fresh and tasty vegetable sides made this a meal to remember - highly recommended and cannot wait to return. Thank you also to the professional and knowledgeable young lady with the great sense of humour who helped make it an enjoyable and memorable evening.
