Located inside Pal Haveli this place is more famous for its rooftop restaurant which offers mesmerizing view of Mehrangadh fort. Though most of the times the restaurant has a waiting period depending on the season you are visiting. Food and service is also decent.
I have visited quite a number of “Indian” restaurants over my many years, this is up with the best, beautifully presented, staff attentive, food to die for, yes you pay a little extra but Oh boy, is it worth it! YES!
This was my 3rd visit to this resturant with people who had never eaten here before, and I can say it was enjoyed by all.Extreamly busy and a little noisy not the place to bring your wife or someone else’s wife if your thinking of whispering sweet nothings!!!
The starters were made up of seek kebabs ,onion Barges with a difference, samosas with a very light pastry that melted in your mouth and some chicken tikka that wasn’t needed.
I went for the healthy option for my main course which was Fillets of Seabass sat on a potato rosti or something similar all in an aromatic curry sauce...Way hay hay
It was lovely and the other five enjoyed the jolly lot
I would book in advance for a Saturday night
First impressions are good. Nice place decorated in mughal theme. The staff were attentive and quick to respond. Coming on to food..... I ordered Paneer pakora as a starter. Must say they were yummy. Paneer was soft and the crust was crunchy. Mint sauce was a great addition. For mains, We went for Dal Makhani, ratan manjosha and garlic naan. The food was delicious and portion sizes were adequate. Naan bread was thin and bigger in size than the traditional ones. So quite easy to bite. Taste wise the food was quite good and 5 star presentation. Overall an enjoyable dining experience.
TLDR - Great tasting food, that looks even better; the service is prompt but a little spotty and could do with a little more maturity / consistency.
Food - 4.5*
Ambiance - 4*
Service - 3*
We were there as a group and so our orders were litreally "get one of each thing on the menu for starters" - and most of them turned out very nice. As a vegetarian, I enjoy experimenting with new dishes and this place has two - the lau(ki) mussallam and the spinach balls; both are well cooked and balanced dishes; presented in an appealing manner. these two dishes get a 5* from me.
The other items we tried (Dal, pani-puri, dahi puri, paneer tikka were somewhere between the 3.5* to 4.5* range)...
The desserts were pretty good - better than I had expected; Gulab-jamun was warm and sweet but not too sweet; the kulfi had three good flavors that complemented each other and the gajar halwa was well cooked without having too much sweetness or ghee.
All together, the food was done well, tasted good and though it flirted with extreme spice/sweet here and there, the overarching feel was much more of a balanced thoughtful flavor.
The service was a little different - relaxed and maybe a little slow first, then all the food arrived quickly and then it took a long time to get the desserts. The servers suggestions were helpful but... it wasn't an upscale restaurant feel. (e.g., the server came over after many minutes and asked if we were ready to order, and when we said yes, he promptly told us to wait and went over to another table... left me wondering why he'd come in the first place.. )
I'd be back, but I know I am coming for the food alone...
Got recommended this restaurant by family so we give it a go !!! The place it's self is ok it's clean and trendy enough and the service was fine well mannered staff. We had some mixed starters to share Peshwari Lamb Chops which were fantastic,Ajaaini Salmon Tikka which was a little dry also Chilli Paneer which was a little too spicy but nice if you like it hot also Bhelpuri which was nice as a mouth cleanser moving on to the mains I had Masala Roast Lamb Shank which was ok the meat was tender but the sauce a little too hot the other dishes Lauki jhinga (king prawns) which I must admit the Prawns were massive and juicy the last dish was Chichen Jalfrazi which was standard also rices and nans to go with the mains the presentation was beautifully done I must admit all in all a nice place to eat and the food was good I would recommend to give it a try.....
After eating here at least once a month and pretty much tasted everything out on the menu! It's safe to say this is my number one restaurant in Manchester!!
Came here on a Wednesday night and they accommodated us easily. We had a party of four, and decided to get a number of dishes to share. To start we did the mix platter for two, but we don't eat lamb so we asked to swap that out for extra prawns and chicken. They were able to do that easily, which I really appreciated. We also started with some tandoori chicken, and all of it was delicious. I could've just eaten a giant platter of the prawns from the starter, they were delicious. We got a number of mains to share, the hyderabadi biryani with chicken, one mild and one madras-style. Both were very delicious, especially with the raita. We also got the dumplings, Ratan Manjosa, and the Sabzi Punchmela, mixed vegetables. Both were very delicious, and presented beautifully. A gentleman I think was the manager or owner stopped by our table to see how everything was, always a very nice sign, and we told him we were interested in trying something else. He offered to have a curry made up for us, and had it tweaked to be better for sharing as he said it was usually not made all mixed up. We had the garlic naan, garlic chili naan, and cheese naan and some rice to top everything off, and it was all fantastic. The service was great, very accommodating and helpful, and our waiters were attentive without being overbearing, and everything was plated absolutely beautifully. I would return here without hesitation. The menu isn't as expansive as some, but they seem very amiable to making something off menu if you ask. Will return!!
Me and my boyfriend treated our friend for his 30th birthday here! We have been a few times in the past, but since moving out of the area we haven't returned in over 2 years. I read the recent reviews and some mention small portions. Please ignore those reviews!! We were so full! We ordered 3 starters, a main each, and I had a side of rice with my chicken tikka main dish. We were absolutely stuffed! We couldn't finish the food, and they happily gave us pots to take our left-overs home. We had the Bhel Puri, pani puri and vegetable samosa to start, followed by 2 x biryanis (chicken and lamb) and the chicken tikka main. The meat was so tender and full of flavour. The starters were all so different in taste and flavour. The staff were so friendly and welcoming. We will be back for more - much sooner this time!
The food is very nice but the portions are small. You end up paying more than you intended as you have to get at least 2 orders per person. I’ll upload pictures of the portions showing how you get 3 bites per order.
The BEST modern Indian restaurant food in THE WHOLE of Manchester. The food is exquisite. The owner is one of the most genuinely lovely people. I love going there for special occasions. It never ever disappoints.
Absolutely lovely customer service and food …very worth while the £30 per person and amazing presentation.
Great experience. The food was absolutely excellent. Everything is homemade. I’d even recommend the popadom and pickle tray; the homemade pickles were so tasty. Good service and lovely atmosphere. Highly recommend
Beautifully presented food at very reasonable prices. One of the best places to be
Great food and different to other Indians. The food is excellently presented in what I'd describe as gastro Indian but still reasonably priced. Nothing tastes fatty or oily and a meal for 4 with alcoholic drinks was very reasonably priced. Love that it's a little independent too, supporting a local business of Burton road. ❤️
Absolutely gorgeous food at an extremely reasonable price, wonderful ambiance, friendly staff, with a robust set of vegan options, and a mouthwatering cocktail menu. I highly recommend the spicy potatoes!
Great food with amazing presentation! Came here for a birthday celebration & everyone loves their meals apart from starter scallops being very small. Not 5 stars due to the high pricing & being understaffed which meant we waited a bit longer than normal. We found the more tasty meals to be the more expensive ones.
Indique is a place with a beautiful interior design, lovely staff and good vibes. Great selection of starters, mains, specialties, drinks, teas, beers and alcohol. Lovely, warm place to dine, definitely recommend tasting the chef's speciality. It's easy to share as well. A place to organise a gathering, birthday, or just enjoy your meal and drink. The way the dishes are presented is stunning. 100% recommended.
