I have been before, but ages ago and as it was a business meal and driving home later alcohol was sparse. In some ways it's a good thing because there is not an alcohol influence on the experience. It was Thursday night and it was relatively quiet and as group we were a mix of a couple of regulars and the rest who had either not been or not for sometime. The drinks came quickly and the waiter came back for the food order. After a recomendation of the sharing sausage platter we ordered far too many and after the starter I was feeling already a little full.
The steaks on a board for explanation was delivered very professionally by a young guy who must do this so many times a night. I guess this is where perspective comes in. For some like me it was an interesting part of the meal for some they knew what they wanted and just wanted to order as they had been through this a few times. I took the special which was asteak cut in half and covered in herbs etc. I have to say I thought it was a great steak, but at the end I found myself feeling very full. From my perspective it was a great evening and a very good steak, for a couple of others they said they would like it freshened up a bit to give it new interest. It's my review so I thought it was excellent food, friendly and efficient service, and the only reason why not excellent is that the lack of people probably took something away from the experience.
Two words...electro brunch. Was in Manchester last weekend and was keen on seeing what the electro brunch was all about as the menu looked too good to be true. But it is good...and it is true. The steak and eggs kicked things off nicely, so tender and a nice runny egg. Then followed the eggs bene, the chorizo sausage and anything else I could get my hands on. Left feeling very full and slightly drunk (that comes in the masses too) Great service too. Highly recommend
Amazing steaks... at a price.... We have been here twice (both times with someone else paying, otherwise we wouldn't have been able to afford the mind-blowingly expensive meals!) The first time I had the taster plate of steaks with a variety of different cuts. Unfortunately, having described how best to cook the different cuts, they all arrived medium rare, so the one which would have benefitted from longer cooking to render down the fat and crisp it up was tough and chewy and inedible. The second time then, I had the fillet only, cooked rare, and it was amazing - tender, succulent and juicy. In fact, all our steaks were superb. As a previous reviewer said, some of other dishes on the menu such as the starters and accompaniments are pretty mediocre (especially the mixed salad) but I don't suppose you come here for those. Would definitely come again for the brilliant steaks... anyone fancy paying for me to go again?
Great but expensive. What a sense of occasion one gets from dining here! Fabulous surroundings, brilliant staff, excellent food. Everything was good without exception. The only drawback is that you pay for the privilege. worth it though!
Gaucho is one of those places you take someone you love for a special night out. Food is amazing but it comes at a price. If your a McDonald type this place probably isn't for you!
Interesting building, nice ambiance. Quite expensive but food was very nice. We only stopped by on impulse for some lunch, so we had burger and chips. The steaks looked fantastic and we will be back.

Nothing compares to steak this good. We miss you having moved away to Oz.....we now have the best steak at our fingertips but nothing compares to steaks prepared at Gaucho along with our favourite Luigi Bosco Pinot Noir....if only we had not taken you for granted.

Ambience Amazing!. Ok, so the wait for a table wasn't great even though we'd booked, but while we waited we were served drinks and mixed nuts to stave off the hunger and the setting was excellent. When the steak came it didn't disappoint it just melted in my mouth - Excellent!

Our steak was very nice, my fillet was just right for medium rare, my wife's medium well done sirloin was also great. Service by Mark was spot-on, very helpful and informative. Sides could have been hotter, the roast veg was warm to cool. Wine choice was great but expensive, retailed for a third of the sit down price. Great place, nice settings and atmosphere. Pricey and nice.

Steak and chips done right. Really good steak, cooked to perfection, with azing chips and a good side salad. Staff were friendly and helpful. All in all a fantastic night enjoyed by all my party of 9. Thanks Gaucho Manchester.
Outstanding service and quite possible THE best steaks. Taken family and nobody was disappointed. A little on the expensive side but you can see and taste the extra expense. Would definately recommend. Maybe some places could learn how to do a proper steak from their example.

Good steak comes to Manchester. Have eaten at 2 of the London restaurants before, so expectations were high.

Absolutey awesome. Trendy surroundings with glossy black Walls, crystal chandeliers, mirrored ceilings and cow hide seats, compliment exemplery food. The waiters bring choice cuts of raw steak to your table and give you the lowdown on the differing taste, texture and fat content of the different cuts before prompting you for your selection. When it does arrive it will be some of the best steaks you will have tasted. It certainly was for me. It's a little expensive but I didn't feel short changed, you have to pay for quality? Right!? Really enjoyed it and would definately go again.

Superb menu. High quality produce, excellent steaks and dishes you don't tend to see anywhere else (like the cerviches) make this a must visit in Manchester.
I found my Tira De Ancho steak to be good value for 500g of high quality, well cooked and flavoursome beef. The Tira De Ancho is ‘spiral cut’ rib-eye, basically translating as a strip of rib-eye. As requested, mine had been ‘medium rare’ - slow grilling allows the marbling of this particular cut to melt and permeate the steak with flavour. The flavours were then further enhanced with their version of a chimichurri sauce.

Overall I had a lovely meal here for my birthday recently.
The beef bar sampler was absolutely perfectly cooked and flavoured. Cannot fault the food at all!

Will always revisit Gaucho when in Manchester, its a perfect spot for what I would describe as a high end dinner (my opinion based on places I dine).
The building and decor are absolutely stunning.
Little warning in case anyone isn't aware; when they ask if you want bread when you sit down, this is not complimentary (which I've experienced in lots of places), this will be on your bill. As will bottles of water at £5 a bottle. Absolutely my mistake as usually expect tap water to be free, didn't think about the fact it would be bottled water. May be common sense for most but worth mentioning in case anyone makes the same mistake I did! £10 on water feels a bit ridiculous regardless of where you are!

Food is good however heavy taste recommend if you like tasting all your flavours. Setting is too dark for good picture. The table that we booked wasn’t the best location however lovely manger and staff. Steak was top notch 100% would come back just for the steak.
Came for an early Valentine's meal, nice food and a nice venue. The food was nice. I had the 400g ribeye and I can't remember having a better steak. Although the medium sirloin we had was probably a tad overdone. Live dj mixing live music was probably a bit loud, but a nice touch. Our waiter was lovely and looked after us nicely, as was the manager. Quite an expensive place, but definitely a place to come on special occasions.
I couldn’t recommend this place more, celebrated my boyfriend’s birthday here and the waiter we had was absolutely incredible and so kind. The steak was absolutely amazing, we both ordered a 300g ribeye and it was one of the best/the best steak we’ve ever eaten. I also requested for something to be brought out for his birthday and it couldn’t have been better, he ended up receiving a biscoff cheesecake free of charge, and compared to other places in Manchester, the portion was great compared to a 2 by 2 inch brownie we are used to. A warm welcome from every member of staff from start to finish. Our waiter Marcello explained the full menu to us and even brought out a steak board showing us the different steaks. We could tell he was an experienced waiter who took his job seriously which is few and far between nowadays. We will be back!
We had an amazing evening here! Visited with my family for my birthday and the service from Peter was outstanding - he was very attentive and friendly. The food was lovely, 4/5 of us had the rump steak and we all loved it.
We were a group of Norwegian guys that went here after the match on Sunday. I want to Reccomend everyone that are in or visit Manchester to try out this place 😊 staff was very kind and nice from start to end 😊 and the food to die for. We had a fab experience at Gaucho last night. We went for my sisters 30th birthday and the staff really made us so special. They seated us in the seperate room at the back with the wine so we had some privacy and attended to us regularly, helping us pick out nice wine and showing us the cuts of their steaks. They also brought out a cheesecake for my sister for dessert! The whole experience just felt so special. They didn’t need to do what they did, they just did it anyway. Not the mention food was delicious, wine went down a dream!

We went Gaucho Manchester before Manchester City match with hospitality package. Their foods quality was much better than our expectation. We are living in South America now. We know Argentina cusine quality. So, we can say clearly Gaucho steak is amazing. The service and server were also excellent.

We went for a birthday meal, and safe to say the service was excellent and I honestly cannot critique it in any way whatsoever. The service from Marcello was nothing short of excellent, his recommendations was bang on the money. For starters we got burrata and Beef empanadas which was both sublime and so full of flavour, mains we got a sirloin 500g steak, and a wagyu burger which once again was excellent and not a bad word to say, even the sides was great, and did not expect the birthday cheesecake so thank you to the team for that. It might be pricey but it is definitely worth the money for the experience and quality of the steak and food in general.
Loved our experience at Gaucho. Some items were not photographed as it was all gobbled up too quickly! Place is lovely and the service excellent. Honestly, customer service is top notch; our waiter was very helpful, welcoming and friendly. We had the fillet and another type of steak recommended by staff. We got a side of truffle mac & cheese, chips, and rocket salad which were all very delicious. The cheesecake dessert was the best we ever tried & the brownie was average to be honest. Theres a lovely selection of drinks that is inclusive of those who do not prefer alcohol as well. It was a fantastic experience & we will definitely be coming again.
