We were lucky to find a table upstairs, next to a window. The place was atmospheric and welcoming.
The service is very kind, smiling and fast.

Wow. The food here is divine. But make sure you arrive early as they sell out of some dishes. I had the shepherds pie. It was made with a lamb shank, and the meat just fell off the bone. Place looks and feels old - I took some American friends, and they were amazing and loved it.
We called in after completing a treasure hunt round Manchester with the old Wellington as the finish point.

My husband and I ordered the Fish Platter (£16) and Loaded Nachos (£9.50) for ourselves whilst the rest ordered a main dish each. Both the Fish Platter and the Loaded Nachos were great. Fresh and flavoursome. Not greasy. The Fish Platter portion was good
