Tried their t bone steak and lamb rump. Can't fault the quality of the food. The only reason it gets four stars is because of the wait time to take the order and the time it took to get the bill. It wasn't even that busy. The other thing was that the lamb portion priced at 23 quid could have been a bit more generous. That is why it's getting four stars. The quality of the food though was top notch.

An amazing steak experience. Cooked perfectly in a relaxed environment. Food is on the expensive side, but you are paying for the name. Everything is incredibly flavoursome, well presented, and if you go for the steak - high quality beef. Book through Opentable to get 25% off your food bill.

Was in Manchester for the weekend visiting my son, lovely weather so headed down the Canal Street to enjoy the water front. Walked past a few places with outside seating but sat outside Mr Whites for obvious reasons. Was only out for drinks in the day but after a few and friendly service from the lady, we headed inside for something to eat. Downstairs was a lovely break from the heat, AC was on it was lovely. We only like small food, so opted for a couple of the starters and those were some of the best we have had. The calamari was to die for, we contemplated ordering a second portion :) The prawn cocktail, a classic and was done to perfection served with brown bread, lovely. A rare find on my visits to Manchester, a friendly place with excellent service and food, will sure to return on my next visit, for food, drinks or both

Attended this weekend and what a fabulous place it is, we had the choice to sit inside or outside (very rare in Manchester!) As it was nice weather we decided to sit outside and have food. The service was friendly but relaxed and there was a great eclectic mix of people. We loved it, from the food to the service to the weather :-) we will definitely be back and can see this fast becoming one of our neighborhood haunts as it puts the rest of Canal Street to shame

Had dinner here (13/3/19) with a couple of friends. Waiter (Jan) very helpful taking the time to go over the gulten free options for 1 of the party. Overall, the service was excellent. Staters were good and the main (steak) was outstanding. Dessert menu was disappointing, limited choice and quite bland.

Lovely restaurant with great food and service. We were a table of four and my boyf and parents chose the French burger and swapped out fries for chunky chips and I had the Artichoke and Forestierre Mushrooms dish with a side of onion rings. All the food was tasty and perfectly done. My dish was vegan and soooo tasty. For desert we each had different things. I had fruitcake and blue cheese, others had the Eton Mess, brownie with ice cream, and the cheesecake. Everyone was happy and stuffed by the end. We all had gins and tonic, and water for the table, so the bill came to £200, £50 each for two courses, alcohol and the 10% service charge. The staff were lovely and accommodating, polite and friendly. The restaurant looks lovely, better than the pictures, and would suit anything. There was a large table celebrating a birthday. Others having romantic meals. People were dressed in trainers, jeans or more formally so quite a mix. Great location on the corner of Canal Street and Minshull, 5 mins from Piccadilly and 2 mins from carpark. I'm going to go back and I would recommend to others.

Staying at the Velvet hotel above restaurant so decided to give it a try even though we're not really steak people.. but after eating here that may change. The filet was melt in your mouth delicious. Also didn't realize Mr. White was Gordon Ramsey's mentor!

Wonderfully helpful and friendly staff, excellent delicious food, generous portions. Desserts to die for and we loved the option of non-alcoholic cocktails. Will definitely return.

Good menu and great food. But..... after staff confirmed twice that the advertised discounts applied, the bill showed full price. When we questioned this we were made to feel like cheapskates.

Had the best T bone Steak (both in terms of meat quality and quality of cooking) from any restaurant in the UK. Rest of the food was lovely and service was excellent. Would recommend.
