I've never written a review for a restaurant in my life and I've been to some pretty lovely restaurants. The Creameries was such an all around excellent experience that I had to leave one!! The pricing is SO incredibly reasonable for the quality of the food and the dining experience. I could not recommend it enough.
The food was subtle, delicious, and interesting. The flavors were unique and so thoughtfully paired. Even their clams in white wine, which I almost always order at every restaurant, were nothing like I've ever tasted before. Keep in mind that plates here are small and are meant for sharing tapas style. That way you get to try a bit of all of the amazing dishes! Each dish tastes homemade and created with care.
The staff was extremely kind, attentive, and helpful. We had quite a few questions about the menu and they were always happy to answer them.
The interior is also beautifully designed. It looks scandanavian minimalist but feels very cozy and welcoming. I loved the plants everywhere. The tiling on the outside of the restaurant is also lovely.
This review definitely doesn't do The Creameries justice. If you want to have a special meal, go here!!! So worth it. I can't wait to go back. :)
What can I say, it was amazing. Me and my boyfriend came tonight and everything was stunning; the food, the wine, the service and the decor. Very well priced and we're already planning our next visit to try breakfast and lunch.
The bread and butter is great, the clams were the star of the whole evening. They were potentially the best thing I have ever eaten.
Pigeon and lemon sole mains were perfect with a great pairing of a Portuguese wine. All the staff working are so friendly and knowledgeable it's hard to believe it's only the second day of trading.
Please visit this place is worth your time!
We had an amazing meal here last night. Our waiter Ian was passionate about the food and helped us put together our own 4 course tasting menu.
The food was sublime - taste explosions in every mouthful. We had the fava chips followed by the celeriac noodles with mint peas. Then the goat, hake (with vinegar jelly) and potato skin. Finished off by rhubarb and affogato desserts. The wine and quince gins were delicious.
The only negative was the flimsy brown paper napkins - better quality recycled alternatives must be available!
We ended up paying about £40 each which we felt was great value compared to what you’d usually pay for a tasting menu and drinks elsewhere. Looking forward to coming back and trying more of the dishes!
Absolutely love this place! It’s a breath of fresh air, great menu, the bread speaks for itself. Proud and helpful staff!
Great food, excellent wine choices, staff are friendly and knowledgeable and the place looks great. My lunch was yummy. Lots of veggie choices and lots of bread and cheese, so what's not to love :)
We had a wonderful meal at The creameries last night. Not only was the food amazing, the drinks were well matched and the staff were the exact right level of attentive. All of the dishes were delicious but the pigeon and clams were amongst some of the tastiest food I’ve had in a very long time. The cheese pie was incredibly moreish.
What a gem of a restaurant! Looking forward to my next meal there.
Wonderful lunch yesterday: superb wine, exquisite clams, possibly the best I’ve ever eaten! The pea chips with mushroom ketchup were very special too and as for the bread and butter, I would come to eat that alone! Love the atmosphere and the ethos too. Best new eatery to emerge in a long while.
Lovely surroundings to match the food.....try the Brill...oh and the pigeon.....just try everything. Great wine selection to match
Lovely drop-in breakfast this morning. 😊. Beautiful place. V friendly staff and delicious bread. Will definitely be back
Visited for a special occasion and we were not disappointed! Excellent service and food quality. So good having somewhere like this in Chorlton for a fine dining experience (and great value for the quality of food/ingredients used). We enjoyed sharing so we got to taste many dishes!
Loved the decor & atmosphere. Went on a Thursday lunchtime (booked in advance ) and it was busy ! Ordered the clams (£14) , x2 of the cheese (£3 each ) which comes with chutney & toasts and the focaccia (£5). The quality of the ingredients shines through the dishes . Very different to any other cafe / restaurant in Chorlton. We also had excellent oat milk coffees served in gorgeous ceramic mugs. Every detail has been carefully thought about. We didn't come away feeling full & I do think that for the portion sizes , it was a tad over priced but it wouldn't put us off going back. Also, we took our 3 week old baby & they had free nappies & wipes in the baby changing facility. We didn't use them buy great if you were to get caught out.
The Creameries looks stunning. It has a relaxed, Scandinavian kitchen style. It feels homely, although we did know many of the people in the restaurant. We sat next to two friendly guys - we didn't know - who encouraged us to try the clams and they were right. Everything we ate and drank for supper was delicious. The staff were incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. Love The Creameries. We want to try lunch next.
Had an excellent night learning how to cook with Mary-Ellen McTague. I highly recommend The Creameries if you’re pondering where to eat in Chorlton, or if you just want some amazing wine bread and cheese! Thank you
Just had a fantastic lunch. Really nice cured goat. Very reasonably priced, and friendly staff. I’ll be back very soon.
Fantastic lunch today at the Creameries. Mouthwatering food, friendly and attentive service, a fabulous vibe when we arrived... we watched bread being made whilst paying a surprisingly reasonable bill... what more can you ask for... we'll be back again and again... well overdue and exciting to have just a short walk from home.
An exceptional chef complimented by a relaxed dining room and a congenial service. What's not to love?
Food here is amazing, they cater for so many dietary requirements. The staff are really friendly, they gave me recommendations and they were great ones. Inside is decorated with plants, giving it a light and casual feel, whilst still being a classy place. Apparently the menu changes daily to keep things fresh, I just wish it was a little bit cheaper so I could afford to eat there more! It is definitely worth it cost wise for the incredible food, great service and super friendly atmosphere.
Nice little place for a relaxed meal or snacks. The sourdough with brown butter was delicious as were the mussels served with focaccia. We were recommended the sweet pea chips with mushroom ketchup which was my favourite! The chips were nice and crispy on the outside but so soft and pillowy on the inside.
The place is quaint and the people very nice and helpful. I would thoroughly recommend!

Go here you will NOT regret it! We came from London for an anniversary trip to Manchester and this is where we picked for a tasting menu to celebrate. The food was INCREDIBLE and cannot recommend the wine flight that accompanied, more. I'm not even really a white wine drinker but those they had chosen were sublime. Shout out to Kate our waitress, she had amazing vibes and smiles and Jay (I think it was) who had lots of excellent wine info. All round an amazing evening and if we lived closer we'd be back again and again. Thank you so much! Emily & Kev
Fantastic pastries and coffee. Wonderful watching it getting baked right there. Not huge amounts of seating, so be prepared to wait (although to be honest it was not a problem when I was there)
There is also outdoor seating, sonic you have a coat on you have options.
We had a kids baking lesson which lasted an hour and a half I think. It was great for the kids, although I was a little frustrated that it over ran by about 20 minutes.
Overall? A great place to go
What an amazing place. Food was out of this world and the definitely have the wine flight to go with the tasting menu. Wish I had taken more photos but it was too nice.
Tasting menu was a great experience and very good value, a huge amount of care thought and work in the food. Staff are brilliant too. A real treat.
We had a great time here. Lovely food, attentive service and a very pleasant atmosphere. Overall a fab dining experience. Would gladly come again.
PS: I'm not much of a food critic, but I will say that in every dish of our 4 courses there was something that both astounded and delighted. Yum!
Wonderful food, lovely, highly knowledgeable staff, and a beautiful venue - definitely worth it 🙂
Freshly cooked delicious delights. ...fabulous family atmosphere.....
Beautiful food, nice atmosphere and really friendly service. Not loads of plates on the menu, but that is no bad thing, as you can tell that a lot of care and attention has gone into preparing each one. Will definitely be returning.
First time visit to the new Campagna edition of the Creameries. Really enjoyed it - friendly service, and the short menu is now mostly Italian in style. Every dish was beautifully executed, and good value. Bottled wine pricey, but they also have "on tap" options which are good quality and are reasonably priced. Dinner for 2 (2 courses, 1 shared dessert, 750ml wine) worked out around £75. Will be back!
Second time we've been for lunch here, always different options which is great. We've taken the dog both times which is wonderful to be able to do. The interior looks fantastic and simply stylish. The service is relaxed and friendly. You can tell the staff are passionate about what they do. The breads are simply delicious and their creamy soups are indulgent. The prices are really reasonable for the high quality food that's served.
Staff were so friendly, immediately asking how they could help. The coffee was amazing!!! Decor was nice and vibrant, lots of plants.
I didn't try the food, but saw the kitchens, the prep and smelled the results, I'm very excited to go back for it.
A great place for a coffee in any situation

We had a wonderful meal at The Creameries last night. The 5-course evening meal was stunning, and at £35 a real bargain. They mostly use inexpensive ingredients to keep the price down, but there is no compromise on flavour. The pheasant (both breast and thigh meat) for the 4th course was exemplary. Literally everything we ate was superb, even the home-made sourdough, which gives Pollen bakery a run for its money. The staff were also universally terrific, and the atmosphere of the open kitchen was good-humoured professionalism. We’re already planning when to go back.
An awesome spot for jazz, wine and cake! Great vibes and atmosphere, with a distinctive wine selection. The staff were lovely and gave us a free almond and apricot brioche that was sinful in a good way! Cannot wait to go back for full on meal!
This place is lovely, the staff are very friendly, the coffee is really nice and the food is delicious.
However, along with being delicious it is crazy expensive. I am still telling of the egg in some sauce with a slice of toasted bread that cost me £9 a week later.
So a star lost for prices. But otherwise top notch.
7 of us sat down to eat, obviously trying to order was difficult. The waiter offered to build a menu for us, we said a few things we definitely wanted and roughly how much to pay. He did an amazing job, we had plenty of food for all of us and a good mix of almost all the menu.
The skill of the chefs is incredible, the hake was so delicate and tasty that even two people in the party who don't care for fish loved it. The celeriac noodles were so good that others asked for spoons to finish the broth.
A different waiter, when called over for the wine list, had heard that some on the table wanted a sweeter white wine and brought a taster over which was immediately chosen, even by the one who preferred dry!
Overall a wonderful experience, a great atmosphere and lovely decor. Highly, highly recommend.
