A little bewildering at first, but once we had settled down and worked out how the system works it was an excellent experience ! After selecting and paying for various food items from different service areas, they were all delivered to our table by the very helpful and friendly serving staff. Slightly on the expensive side, however each food item was delicious and well cooked, I was very impressed ! I will definitely go there again, it cannot be beaten for an informal meal ! 😀
What an unexpected hidden pleasure. Looks like a solicitor's office on the outside but inside, wow. The layout and overall style is glorious but all of that is nothing compared to the food. Cannot wait to go again!
I really enjoy coffee, I make espresso at home on a pro-sumer machine and I really enjoy exploring to find my favourite roasters and cafes. I’ve tried a lot of coffee in Manchester and Atkinson’s is the best, in my opinion. I like milk drinks, and the latte here is insane. Usually milk drinks tend to dull down flavour notes and make a smoother drink which is just the nature of things; but the ‘archetype’ beans used for lattes here is so flavourful. It’s extremely balanced and very low bitterness, which for me I love.
I came back as soon as I could a couple of days later to pick up a couple of bags of beans (and another latte) along with a great experience talking to the baristas about the coffee and getting some recommendations.
A underrated gem and an asset to the coffee scene in Manchester ☕️🚀
Rather good coffee and a trendy, relaxed atmosphere. There were two coffees on grind for espresso as well as filter options. You can buy beans and coffee equipment, though I couldn't see any beans on sale that were less than 4 weeks old already. The wait for our order (espresso and a flat white) was just long enough to make us anxious we'd been forgotten about. Could probably do with communicating to customers a bit more clearly what the realistic time to serve is going to be.
Always get a good coffee here, and it's great to sit outside when the weather is good. The cakes are really good, but I just wish some savoury options were available. I know it's part of the Mackie Mayor complex, but I don't fancy traipsing around and queueing at different stalls for my snack or lunch
Beautiful interior & bakery, the coffee was a little acidic but it goes well with the banana bread 😁. I highly recommend the place!
Great coffee and a nice selection of cakes. Well socially distanced in a world of covid. The coffee is roasted in Lancaster and so has a unique taste, its different to most cafes in Manchester. Stronger in flavour and less burnt. Highly recommended if your want a quieter time in Mackie Mayor.
Coffee was amazing and looked extremely pretty. The staff was very helpful and friendly.

Really lovely place with a good selection of teas, own rosted coffee and lovely cakes. Besides having their own seating area you can also sit in the food hall, which is lovely if you have kids because it has a cool nook with toys and books under the stairs.
Great coffee and lovely staff. Also had a nice cronut. They also sell lots of home barista equipment and their own beans. Overall a great third wave café honoring coffee as it should be.
Nice coffe shop when you're tired and want a place to chill on Sunday
