Alvarium - Manchester - Photo album

Stick with the tapas style starters. Much better value than the mains. Grab a few of those! Drink prices what you expect from the northern quarter. Service average, but friendly. Nice building. Clean toilets. Recommended.
Very friendly and welcoming waiting staff. The atmosphere is great for a cosy snack and a few drinks with friends. The chilli nachos are awesome, I will return, however it drops a star as food took a little too long to arrive even though the place wasn't packed.
Wasn't quite what I expected, but still really enjoyed it. Seems I didn't read enough food reviews and didn't quite grasp this was a vegan/veggie only place (there are pics of meat in previous reviews!). So I pop in for some Sunday lunch last week and they say there is a new Sunday lunch set menu.
Excellent Cocktail Bar, really great staff, really well decorated, really great music, amazing happy hour prices AND you can use Confidential's deals outside of happy hour. literally couldn't recommend Alvarium enough, it is my Go-to bar in Manchester. and the drinks are so 'instagrammable' and uniq
Black Leaf is a beautiful restaurant in the basement of Alvarium, serving all vegan food - though I think you can sit outside with it if you like. The staff were super friendly and the food was delicious. As much as I like vegan junk food, it's so nice finding somewhere serving something a bit more
Great place awesome food amazing staff. The decor is so inviting. Congrats to the person designing the cocktail menu it's great. And the food... sooo delicious. I do thing the portion size of the sides is quite big for 3.5 pounds and the size of the plates is a bit too small. But taste and presentat
Newer 2nd review: The tall guy with the beard and the girl are nice and pleasant to talk to. I like this place but for feedback I'd like to ask if they can get some more cheaper dry white wines. Their current pinot is over £8 for a 175ml glass. Also we tried the tapas for the first time and overall
Their high stars review said it all, you won’t be disappointed!
Very basic venue but service was good & loved the food from Lazy Tony's
Came here tonight on a staff night out. Was fairly busy, and we all ordered different cocktails. Venue was understaffed which increased the wait time for the full venue. Drinks were sweet, food was okay. This little cocktail was very interesting though!
You must try the Oyster mushroom burger when you visit. The chef works wonders on this humble mushroom to make it the star of this vegan mouth explosion....cocktails aren't bad either!
Lovely place for a few quiet drinks! The cocktails are so delicious & there's guaranteed to be a drink you like. Super cosy atmosphere but perfectly lively too. Can't go wrong, staff are all super chill and lovely - it's becoming a regular for my partner and I!
Great food and strong cocktails what more do you want from a plant based bar! :) (oyster mushrooms in Sesame sauce)
Had a fabulous meal in the Black Leaf. All 3 courses were delicious and substantial too. The wine was lovely and the staff were excellent. Can't wait to return. I'm not a vegan or even vegetarian, to all you fellow meat eaters I urge you to try the food here I think you'll be very pleasantly surpri
Pretty standard bar, nice service but you can feel a bit in the way depending on where you sit. I've been a few times and it's been nice for a quick drink. I haven't tried the food there yet but might do in the future!
Nice bar with good drink choice and friendly service. A good replacement for the old cord bar.
The food at Black Leaf is wonderful (king oyster mushroom calamari and the chickpea meatballs were a personal favourite) and the team are so lovely, but the tables are tiny and squashed together and the subterranean room just isn't a very pleasant space overall. I really hope that Black Leaf move to
One of my fav bars in Manchester, slightly hidden away so not too jammed. Cocktails are amazing. There are a few outdoor seats. There is a restaurant downstairs which I haven’t tried yet.
