The portion is massive for the price! We were in awe as the lady kept piling on.
The food is amazing, always warm and tasty. We always get jerk chicken with rice and bean + curry goat & rice + side fried plantains and share, it's just the best!
Like the other stalls in the market though you need to pick the time otherwise it will be too crowded to find a seat.

Jollof, Beef stew and Plantain combo for £10.50 is a banga. As a white man seeking delicious food from around the world, Onje has been the only African place so far where every component of this combo has been on point.
Anyone wondering whether to try it 100% do.

Best meal I’ve ever had, hands down.

Amazing food, I got the jollof rice, plantains and beef stew. Perfectly spiced and the lovely woman serving me was the cherry on top! Couldn’t fault it and would go back in a heartbeat if I wasn’t stuffed from the portion size!! Next time I am definitely trying the fried chicken.

Great food, amazing jerk and curry coat but beef stew is my favorite, with amazing authentic jollof. Was very surprised to see Onje didn’t have a higher score.

The food was amazing, spicy but amazing. The staff were very friendly and generous with portion sizes. The food was reasonably priced and will definitely try to go back

I always enjoy Onje’s meal it opened when I was rounding up my masters in 2013-14 I think and it’s my go to Nigerian restaurant and anytime I am in Manchester I stop by. The portion and price is quite adequate.

Lovely lady plantain was dry but the curry goat was soo nice and juicy !! Shame there was more bones than meat but the bit I did get to eat was lovely !

Delicious food and large portions. Worth a visit when in the Arndale and hungry for something warming and spicy.

Onje is an Afro Caribbean food stall in Manchester’s Arndale Food Market serving a mix of Caribbean cuisine and African dishes such as Jollof. The jerk chicken is not bad and the plantain is good too.
