El Molcajete

Pros: Nice interior, spacious seating, food is.. Okay. We were seated quickly, but waited nearly ten minutes before a waiter saw to us. Took our order before we were asked about drinks. Waited a full hour before our food started coming out, the first plate of which was just beans and rice. It took them at least 15 minutes to finish bringing out the other two plates. At one point, we were told 'The last plate is coming' and we still didn't see it for almost ten minutes. Will absolutely not be back.

Terrible. It’s been a long time that I’ve been to a place that gave me this many red flags. Right off the bat we were sat in a booth that was very uncomfortable and it felt like you were being sucked into the seat which made it hard to eat anything. It took two people to take our very simple order. They didn’t give us enough silverware. The chips were mostly tiny pieces. But most importantly the food was just simply terrible. Mine was super bland and the chicken tasted like it was canned. It was very dry but the odd thing is that my wife’s meal was overly salty. She said hers tasted like it had been frozen then thawed. Not sure how this place got such high ratings. Which is why we came. Definitely not a 4+ star.

Although it took quite a while ti get more order right, and even after ordering my food to go while I had a drink at the bar, they brought it out for dine in. I can tell they didn't remake it but it was absolutely great, just what I needed and they were extremely kind despite the mix up and some language barrier issues. Be patient and make sure they bring your food out fresh and you'll enjoy this place very much. Chips and salsa are on point.

The absolute worst Mexican food I have ever had. I had the taco/enchilada plate. The enchilada was filled with extremely salty ground beef. No other seasoning I could detect, just very salty ground beef. The enchilada sauce was bland. The taco was filled with the same salty ground beef. The service was very good and the waiter was tipped well and not punished for the poor quality food. This is NOT Mexican food, I don't know what it is, but it isn't Mexican food.

I don’t know where to start. Should I start where my husbands order of the Burrito California and how BLAND it was, or should I start with my plate? My Chile was definitely frozen and thawed. The ground beef in my burrito was salty. Now let’s move onto the sauce that covered both my burrito and the Pepper. SALTY! You should never salt food that much. It made me think that they added a lot of salt to preserve it- that’s how salty it was. I can’t even make this up. Then it took 2 people to take our order. Why 2 people? Maybe it’s because my dad was Hispanic (may he RIP), but this was definitely not good Mexican food as many reviewers have suggested. Please take your money elsewhere when considering what to eat in Manchester, TN.
