The restaurant was beautiful. Service was great and meal was absolutely delicious! The charcuterie board was phenomenal!! Specialty Aphrodite cocktail for Valentine's Day was divine! Perfect for brunch! Definitely recommend eating here!

This place is very professional, knowledgeable, and spotless. The restaurant owners were very kind and welcoming as they mingled around the tables. The food was very original and I found out the restaurant rotates the menu every few months. We will definitely be back. Pictured is the Salmon with arugula and a Platform Martian Sour

Food was good, service was good, atmosphere was good. I enjoyed the small shareable portions to try new things. I also like the fact that they have a deli upstairs where you can buy the same cuts of meat and seafood to take home and make for dinner. This place was comparable to any great restaurant you would find in the bigger cities and prices were fair as well. They even had live music in the winery. We will definitely be back.

Attended a wedding reception here. Loved the food, ambience and the friendly staff. Chicken kebabs were great (not sure if they are on regular menu). They even served tasty vegan dishes for my daughter.

Wonderful find while traveling for work, was not expecting such attention to food, wine, decor in a relatively small town. The Georgian egg flatbread was the best surprise of my week, and beet & burrata salad fantastic as well. SO glad I found this via google!

I've eaten here three times. The 'fine dining' is not worth it. At 50 dollars a plate, on average, and a dress code, your food should be great. My scallops and risotto were not. Overcooked scallops and greasy risotto. There is a great restaurant, 2 blocks away, with the same atmosphere, more consistent food, and no stuffy dress code. The wine cellar? 100% worth it. Go, have a good time. Edit: regarding the dress code portion of the the Owner's response: since I was single out over the dress code, I'm going to have to disagree with the 'lax' comment. I doubt that I'll be back for the fine dining. It's just not worth it. The prices do not reflect the food quality. Especially when less expensive establishments in the area are pumping out the same quality, and don't ever impose a dress code, even during dinner. H&E just feels a little out of touch with people younger than Boomers.

I took my parents to Hudson and Essex April 30th for my fathers 70th birthday. Upon reserving our time, I made note that a member of our group had a nut allergy. The hostess confirmed this with us before being seated. The member with the nut allergy ordered a Blackberry and Bourbon to drink but was served a Black Walnut Old Fashioned. The server realized her mistake and came to swap out his drink. Unfortunately, he had already consumed about half of it, we had already placed our dinner order, and we had already enjoyed our soups. We hurried through our meal so we could get home in the event he had a reaction. The manager stopped by to offer a complimentary "nut-free dessert" which we did not take her up on. As our members nut allergy is severe, he does not partake in desserts at public establishments. Often times dessert ingredients are processed in facilities that also process nuts and are therefore not safe. The member was already experiencing itchiness so the offer of dessert was insult to injury. We will not be recommending Hudson and Essex and informed our other family we will not be returning. As an experienced restaurant/bar manager, I was surprised this establishment is not better informed on food allergies nor sufficient in customer service. If this had happened while I was a manager on duty, his meal and drink at the very least would have been comped. Mistakes can happen, but it is what you do to fix them that matters. My father's 70th birthday dinner was reduced to less than an hour from time of order to the swipe of our credit card.

The food was very good. I got the brunch bowl and my wife got the 4th street salad. Friendly service and the owners are walking around greeting everyone. However, what prompted the 3 star rating was the fact my wife salad came out 25 minutes after the rest of our food. And do not order the Olive Assortment for $5... it's not an assortment. It's just a bunch of pitted black olives in a cup.
