We enjoyed a few drinks here. The only problem was that the bike racks (for parking bikes) were all damaged or bent, making it hard to fit the front tyre of our bikes. So we had to leave our bikes in random places. Also, one of the bike racks was so close to the road that our bikes blocked the traff
We ate here recently while staying close by. Love the new terrace for outside dining. We were seated inside and placed our order pretty quickly. Another couple, who came in after us, received and ate their starters before someone came out of the kitchen to apologise to us that they had run out of on
Great venue, convenient location for anyone going around Rutland Water. They had ran out of scotch eggs which we all fancied after our cycle so they must have been good. Good ale.
Stayed on camping field and had a meal. Would have been even nicer if the grass was cut and because we had a meal a reduced price on staying. Just a suggestion. Dog friendly. Great staff.
Nice pub that served good beer, which was extremely welcome after a cycle round Rutland water on a hot day. Next time we'd like to try the food which sounded nice from the menu, and had prices similar to other places.
We had lunch and dinner there yesterday. The only reason why I gave 4 stars is because the baguette for lunch was baked too long and fell apart while eating. The service was good and friendly. There was plenty of picnic benches outside. We stayed on the campsite just opposite (behind the car park).
Such a lovely hidden gem. I visited on Monday the 7th of August. The guys at the bar were very friendly and useful with local walk tips and information. THANKS GUYS🙋🏻‍♀️ I ordered hallummi fries-delicious! Pub is dog friendly as well. The view just adds yet another star to this lovely pub!
Nice meal. Lots of outside seating including a large decking area. Food good, and friendly service. Not an extensive menu but enough choice to make choosing easy.
The pub is currently undergoing a refurbishment and should look great once finished. We booked ahead and were the only people dining on the night we were there. The staff were very friendly and chatty which we liked. The food was very good and well cooked. They also have a good selection of beers. I
It's a very lovely pub to eat and drink at and the staff are friendly. Although it took a little while for the food to come, it was worth it. Most likely due to it being busier than usual.
Me and my 8 year old loved it at the horse and jockey as a pitstop when biking round Rutland water ,service was excellent and the food was great top marks
Food was good, only had a baguette but was nice. Staff were lovely. It was a sunny day so it was extremely busy. 40 minute wait for food and 5+ minutes to be served but that seemed OK considering how many were there.
Dogs welcome. Lovely beer from the famous Grainstore Brewery. Really well done food. Proper pie pastry. Plenty of parking if you wanted to walk before or after.
An excellent lunch in lovely surroundings with superb service
