The Black Horse Restaurant

I dined last night at the Old Black Horse. The restaurant is situated in the heart of Market Bosworth. Ideal stop to have dinner after a nice walk in the countryside. Dinner was pleasant and service courteous and kind. Food was fresh and presented decently. I will start from this and then review service and atmosphere. Ingredients were fresh and combined prperluy. I saw this in the two courses I ordered;pan fried scallops and pan fried stone bass. Scallops were cooked properly and accompanied by little veggies (salad chopped, pepper, carrots and two crisps). Scallops were almost finely cooked although they could've been improved by adding a bit of light butter when being cooked and left slightly rare. This would have enhanced the flavour. I found the stone bass a formidable course. I particular, i enjoyed the assortment of grains and pomegranate with a scent of orange. The bed of grains, where the sea bass fillet was laid on, really intensified the flavour of the course. The greens at the top contributed to the delicacy of the dish. A glass of Pinot grigio white was a perfect match with both courses. Service was caring and kind. A young lady kindly asked us if we liked the food and if the dinner was enjoyable. I felt looked after. Lastly, the interiors and spaces are well arranged: you can choose to dine indoors or outdoors. A small garden is ideal to have dinner on a warm summer evening. The indoors are pleasant too and, even if dining areas are a bit small, white decor is elegant and makes the space cosy. I enjoyed dining here. I recommend this place.

Better than that place with an Italian name in Sheepy by miles . We were a large party with a couple of disabled parents. . The service from start to finish headed up by Karen or may be Carole sorry Was excellent, friendly quick and totally professional. the food was beautifully presented and was of a very high standard! A wonderful Sunday birthday lunch . These guys go the extra mile in all ways . Excellent restaurant and pub thank you for a great afternoon. We will return soon .

Lovely Sunday Roast. Booked online for 2 people for Sunday lunch. Really friendly service from staff. Food was really well cooked and extremely tasty. Excellent roast potatoes and parsnips. Cheesecake was a perfect ending to the meal, very tasty and filling, the salted caramel sauce was great. Clean, has good toilets and car park at rear of the building. Definitely will be going back.

Took the hubby for a birthday lunch treat as we have visited on a few occasions for dinner and have had excellent service every time.This was not a disappointment, the service was very good, food was excellent and we left feeling pleasantly full.we had the Wild Mushroom & Garlic Arancini & Crab, Avocado & King Prawn Salad pics attached. Very good value for money thoroughly recommend a visit.Very easy to book too and a reminder is sent on the day of the booking which is brilliant.Will be visiting again very soon.
