Passing visitor from the canal. Our canal guide book described the pub as a little gem, and what a gem it is. Great crowd of locals, lovely local beer and a few tunes thrown into the mix. If youโ€™re in the area worth stopping by! Dog friendly!!
Even though for a short time, made to feel welcome. Relaxed and friendly people. Thanks to Harvey and crew.
Fantastic evening with the staff, even joined in their karaoke. The best atmosphere ever, Great value, great beer, great hospitality. Would definitely visit again ๐Ÿ˜Š

Came in here at last and Harvey the landlord immediately welcomed me and made me feel at home. Real proper pub, lovely atmosphere and the locals were great too. A great place to meet friends and enjoy a drink or two
Very friendly local. Will call in again when passing
Went for breakfast at 11am. Good home cooked food, piping hot, delicious. Our table ordered the traditional full English and the meat free. All came to the table really quickly and staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Can't wait to go back to taste the extensive numbers of draught beer.
Great atmosphere, landlord couldn't do enough to make us feel more welcome. Definately return again

Friendly atmosphere and good beers
Visited for a meeting on Tuesday 11 September 2018. I parked in the nearby Asda car park as the Salopian Star does not have a car park. The way in was up a set of steps and I don't know if there is disabled access at the rear of the building. The main room is in an L shape with the bar on the left
