Best Indian meal for a very long time, nice place, the staff couldn't have been more helpful and super efficient. Food was excellent and hot with generous portions, couldn't fault them. I will definitely be going again
The food was fantastic. We went to the 60 70 and 80 do last night. Had a great time. Loved the music. Staff brilliant. Highly recommend it
Great little country pub. I recently visited this pub with my family for a birthday meal.I was delighted by the warm welcome of the staff. We was shown to our table in restaurant, which i thought was very nicely set up for our indian meal.Waiters could not do enough for us and we thought how polite and well mannered they all were.food was out of this world and would highly recommend this restaurant to any people liking indian food. They treated my little boy to a ice-cream and gave it us on the house which i thought was lovely and made my little boys night.thanks to all at the essence of india delia
The entrance via the public bar a little tired a bit like decor in Resteraunt The food was good with a varied menu & helpful staff. However be careful the cost of drinks is quite high bottle of cobra £5,50 & wine £4.50 a glass but not evident on menu.
Best around, Dont Delay !. Out of town,so parking was easy and plenty of room. There is even a complimentary taxis service available for those within 8-miles.
The bar is a traditional English pub with a good real ale ( Rocks' Doombar on the night) it was well kept and pleasantly served by the local barmaid.
The short walk into the restaurant is a surprise with a big change of atmosphere, we entered a well appointed room with good modern furniture and furnishings. The background music was quiet, but just right.
Restaurant orders can be taken at the bar or when seated by polite, smartly dressed staff. Spacious and romantic would be a fair comment. The wine and beer was reasonably priced
The choices of food was wide and varied with prices slightly more than townprices but worth the extra. Most importantly, the food was excellent; good portions and delicious. Unlike most other local restaurants the meats were cooked perfectly being exceptionally tender. For us, it is the best restaurant in the lager surrounding area.
Will tell my friends to go there, highly recommendable ... worth a try. We shall return !
Twins 18th Celebration. We have just celebrated our twins 18th birthday at the, Black Horse Pub and the Essence of India. Fantastic welcoming atmosphere, the bar staff were great, the waiter could not do enough for us, loads of tasty well cooked food. Over all, high quality food and service with a warm loving atmosphere. Thank you all very much.
Wow what can I say, from the moment our group of 10 walked in we were made to feel like kings and Queens. We were met by our host called Mudj, who complemented the ladies and greeted all the males. All the food was spot on, the flavours, the amounts and most of all the presentation was top notch.
Mudj kept our glasses fall and was constantly making sure everything was okay. The food kept coming as did the drinks and as they say "time flies when your having fun" 😊 Would recommend this to anyone!!!
First impressions you may think this place isn't particularly impressive and somewhat dowdy. But the food is always fragrant, fresh & quite outstanding. Staff are also exceptionally friendly & attentive. Amazing range of dishes with fast & efficient service. Restaurant area is quite large and can cater for lots of guests without appearing rammed.
Plenty of spacious parking outside.
Pub/bar on site too but that always seems to be dead whenever we visit & I suspect locals may go drinking elsewhere!?
Nevertheless, probably the best Indian restaurant for miles around!?
Called in early evening on the way home. Really friendly place, staff very welcoming and eager to please. Very good & varied menu.
We had a great evening thank you, was just expecting a normal meal out, but the team here made us feel very welcome, were very friendly and funny, we took them up on their meal recommendations and they were all fantastic, we all left talking about what a great experience we’d had, thank you all 👍🏻
Best Indian food for years, best staff for years - really the best. Really attentive staff and perfect food. I will travel miles to bring people here. Epic.
Came here whilst attending a course. There were 15 of us and on arrival we were slightly apprehensive. The internal decor is very dated and the garden very unkempt. Do not let any of this deceive you. The service and the food was outstanding. Seriously, this place is a hidden gem.
We spotted this absolutely wonderful place on the road back to Coventry. The food and service really was fantastic and Muj the head waiter and his brothers were all welcoming, enthusiastic and took great pride in their business.
Highly recommended if you like good food.
Came here for a meal whilst staying locally for a work course, the staff were amazing and were attentive. The food was beautiful and we had a great selection of rice and naan which was nice. Just a shame the place wasn’t busier! If I lived local I’d definitely be back
Great for dining in and the takeaway is also brilliant if you're not driving/fancy having it delivered. Really tasty authentic food and can make other dishes not on the menu but there is a generous selection on offer anyway. Friendly staff too, my favourite in the area without a doubt
Visited this restaurant whilst my Mum and I were in the area for a 1 night stay. The staff were brilliant and the food was delicious. There was a slight miscommunication whereby my Mums curry was made 'extra hot', but I swapped my dish with hers as I can handle a bit more spice, and we both really enjoyed our meals. Also, Best chapatis I have ever had. I would definitely eat here again.
