We went in here on Sunday as we had our new puppy with us, after we found that we couldn’t take him in anywhere else in Matlock bath, and it was too cold to sit out side.
We found the staff very friendly and helpful, and they welcomed us in to eat even with our puppy. In fact most of the customers had dogs, and there wasn’t any problems, and they were all well behaved.
The food was well priced, and very nice as well. We will be returning soon as they made our cold afternoon very enjoyable 👍🍻🐶🍛🍕🍝
Lovely place with very good food and a vast array of drinks. Sadly, I miss Coors light on tap (will you ever consider bringing it back?). The staff is awesome special mention for Angie who is simply great and absolutely friendly with people and dogs. My little Daisy (pooch) adores her and so do we. Despite no Coors light I still go there every week-end as The Fishpond is one of the perfect places to be in Matlock Bath to take the sun in their beer garden or sit by the fire in the colder months.
We stayed at couple of nights in a B&B just down the road... the Fishpond was recommended by a friend so we decided to head there for something to eat. A very friendly welcome by all the staff there.. especially to our dog Eric (dog treats on a little plate!).. and I must say the food was so delicious we went back the next day for lunch. Nice friendly atmosphere and very dog friendly and we will definitely be returning!
Went today and had Sunday lunch. Highly recommend it. It is the best Sunday lunch I have had. Very tasty . Will be returning

Very cosy, old school, laid back place. The vibe inside is good. Friendly locals. Quite a list of food and drinks selection. I am surprised with their vegetarian options as well. Very pleased with their vegetarian menu.
We ordered loaded fries, that was indeed loaded. Very generous portions. Honestly, these days it is a rarity to see their portion size. Service is good. Can easily accommodate large groups and pets. Oh boy, these locals have amazing dogs
This place was really good! I think the beat and only good place in Matlock bath! If i ever go hack to matlock bath, this is the only place I’d eat in! Really good food and good service! I don’t remember the last time I had that good burger! Loved it! And the service, they were so friendly! And food and drinks were affordable too
Really nice Pub! Staff were nice and very friendly good selection of Beers and food was fantastic I had the GF Haddock&Chips and my wife had The Curry from Specials of the day Menu. They were both very tasty

The pizza is really great at this pub! Sourdough and long rise with a great Napolitano-style crust. We especially liked the one with fennel sausage and kale! Nice atmosphere and friendly staff.
Outstanding carvery. A huge selection of roasts so that you can choose exactly how your meat is cooked. Happy to see rare beef and medium lamb alongside "cremated" versions for the more culinary cautious. The choice of sides, sauces and condiments was fabulous.
We ate upstairs in what was once the ballroom when matlock bath was a Georgian spa town. Check out the amazing ceiling.
I often avoid Sunday roasts because they are so often overcooked and dried out. I would go back to the fishpond any day - though the carvery is only on Sundays.
Gives me confidence to try their other food on a different day.
Just had an Asian chicken rice bowl - quite one of the most delicious pub meal I’ve ever had ( and I travel loads)
Visited at the suggestion of our AirBnB host and the food and staff were brilliant, with great music and atmosphere as well. There was even a ballroom for weddings.

We stayed in Matlock Bath for the weekend. The first pub we popped into was the Fishpond, and we didn't move for the rest of the night because the atmosphere was brilliant, and the staff were so friendly and accommodating.
We ordered the pizza, and to say they were the best pizza's we've tasted would be an understatement. We enjoyed the pub & the pizza's that much that we went back the second night and had them again. Would highly recommend a visit to this place. We can't wait to go back.
Me and daughter come here for food just over a week ago while staying in matlock for the night , the food is truly amazing!! So fresh and tasty and portion size is fab too we can't wait to come back very soon... the staff are very welcoming and friendly also thank you we had a lovely evening :)

Grilled halloumi - Great. Generous portion. The grilled zucchini was lovely.
Korean fried chicken - Great. Decent portion, crispy breading, not too dry (but could be juicier).
Sourdough and hummus - Great. More flatbread that what you'd think of as sourdough. Nice portion for sharing as an appetizer.
Hot chocolate and mocha - Great. Easy to drink
Can honestly say we had the best carvery ever here today. Picked rare beef and medium lamb and it didn't disappoint. Veg selection was also amazing. Was a last minute booking as we were let down elsewhere but am so glad this happened as we would have never discovered just how good this place is! Huge compliments to the chef who was so friendly and helpful. Well done Fishpond, we'll definitely be back 😋
Been many times over the years. It spur of moment trip out. So popped in for a pint and roast dinner. Had a little wait but was well worth it.
Went for my birthday to have a quick lunch and it was absolutely amazing, we had the loaded tandoori fries and the pie of the day, both were so tasty and we enjoyed the atmosphere and the staff were really friendly. Would definitely recommend and can't wait to come back!

Had the Sunday Carvery, it was delicious, very friendly and efficient service. Was second time back and brought the in laws with us this time who loved it just as much. Food was so tasty and fresh, lots of choice. Will definitely recommend and also be back again soon!

We arrived on Friday night to a busy pub with the evening's band setting up. Interesting menu and great food. We didn't stop for the band as we were tired, but if we were in the area we would definitely go back.
