Thank you for a fabulous Mothers Day meal. I can honestly say the nicest mothers day meal we have ever been out for. The staff were lovely and friendly. We expected a delay in the food arriving on such a busy day, but no, it was out in record time with lovely fresh ingredients. Our daughters wanted extra portions of the lasagna it was that good - praise indeed

Excellent village pub with great food and helpful staff. Fires lit, cosy atmosphere. Highly recommended. Just wish they’d stop putting plastic straws in their drinks - a glass of tap water and a glass of ginger beer both came with plastic straws! Unnecessary, an added expense for the pub and contributing to a major world problem.

We are staying at the caravan club site and called in for dinner.we both had the roast lamb and can say without a shadow of doubt it was the most fantastic meal we have ever eaten in a pub.we will definitely be back, keep up the good work..

Went to the lazy trout for the first time yesterday and it was well worth the trip. The food was delicious and the staff where very friendly, even one of the waitresses got rid of a trapped wasp for me as I’m petrified off them and I could tel she wasn’t a fan either will deffo be coming again in the future!

Called in on Saturday night just on the off chance and had a meal. Everything was brilliant. Four different dishes and could not fault any of them. Only problem was that we were too full for pudding so remedied this by going back on Sunday for a treacle sponge. Excellent food and excellent staff, definitely worth a visit or three.

Can’t fault the place, tremendous food good choice of drinks, My fiancé loved the selections of Gins they had on offer and most of all, if you go here the pie is tasty but you have to order the fish and chips!!! Great started too! Great on price! Brilliant!

We live local to the Lazy Trout but have never been in for food. Due to being snowed in at home we called in for something to eat. The food was absolutely delicious and the girls couldn't do enough for us. They even checked we had essential groceries in at home before we left. Fabulous thank you

Expensive but worth every penny. Exceptional meat that is cooked to perfection. An idyllic location and a wonderful old pub / restaurant. Pleasant and attentive staff. A hidden gem between Leek and Buxton. Worth seeking out.

Stayed not too far away & we booked a room for lunch as there were 25 of us. Firstly this place accommodated 25 plus 3 small dogs. The food here was such a high standard. The mushrooms for starter was delicious & my main I had chicken. No one complained about their meal. The staff were friendly & kept an eye on our group. Well done chefs & staff. Would recommend 100%

Came here during a visit to the nearby reservoir. Generous portions of delicious classic pub food. A bit of a wait for the food as it was busy at lunch. Recommend the beef and ale pie.

Visited for lunch on a week day and didn't need to book a table. Good selection of food which is reasonably priced. Service was prompt and staff were pleasent. Food and drinks served were fresh and tasted good.

Wow absolutely delicious food! Well priced, good portion size. Lovely staff and a cosy atmosphere. I was so glad to see so many vegetarian options, I was spoilt for choice! I will definitely visit again. I had the Sunday dinner nut roast and the apple and mixed Berry crumble. Delicious.
