A yakiniku dining experience that won't disappoint.
Enter the bamboo entryway of Takumi and you'll be greeted by the lovely staff. The interior's decor is minimalist and calming.
Depending on your appetite, you can choose from all you can eat BBQ, select individual dishes, or get a few bite size dishes from the bar menu. There are a good selection of local and Japanese alcohol beverages to complement your meal.
We got BBQ and was delighted by the experience of grilling our own meat over charcoal. This also give the meat's flavour an extra special kick. The temperature was just right to cook the high quality cuts of Wagyu and each piece was tender and juicy. The meat are not seasoned as they're meant to be enjoyed with the special sauce. The karage and takoyaki that we ordered was also delicious as side dishes.

Overall an under average experience. Service is incredibly slow. Practically have to beg for food. Poor waiters are understaffed and have to work extra hard. Grill is empty as I’m writing this

At first we were looking forward to this meal however when we ordered the $99 all you can eat package we didn’t even get a chance to order what we actually wanted to eat because they bombarded us with the full menu x 3. I wish I had taken a photo of how much food they brought out for 3 people, 1 five year old and 1 one year old without us even ordering. No where on the menu or website explained that this was the process before we could actually order what we wanted. Not all the cuts for waygu cuts either. I would understand if they had to serve us 1 item off each before we could order anything menu but it was ridiculous. For $99 per head plus public holiday (total bill $330) surcharge I would’ve preferred to go somewhere that wasn’t all you can eat and gotten quality cut meats I wouldn’t recommend this place at all.

Extremely poor service on valentines tbh. Bookings are opened at 9pm even though they close at 10pm. We got there and the cheaper $45-55 pp option was unavailable. Waiters were inexperienced and short staffed, they just stood there our table not introducing the menu to us as we waited. The $75 was going to be expensive and know we won’t have a full dining experience as they close one hour after our arrival time, we considered the short staff, slow service, it was just not worth it. Upon confirming with the waitstaff if they closed at 10pm we were surprised by a snarky answer where she said “I mean we can stay until you have the full 90 minutes”, where she then stormed towards her counter and threw her tray towards the stack of trays. We felt quite uncomfortable at that point and wanted to leave really badly. We had waved one of the other staff said the reason we would like to leave and she was nice but seemed clueless and still stood there saying nothing or leading us out.
Overall, the place was understaffed and underpaid, so service was extremely slow. Staff were pressured and in turn affected the customers.

We've been coming here for dinner every couple of weeks since October 2020 and the $45/pp all you can eat menu is delicious, best value for money for the variety of cuts and quality of meat and sides that you get.
One little criticism I would mention is that the service can be a tad slow at times but when that happened the chef offered us complimentary cut of meat that is only included in the $99/pp set menu, and on one occasion we received free sake shots as well.
Over all we're very happy with their service and food.

Takumi is a clean restaurant with an all you can eat menu including multiple sides. The food oversall is decent tasting but not worth the money the drinks a very expensive but the diping sauces taste great. Its worth a try if your willing to fork out over 45 dollars for basic meats without drinks personally it didnt fill me up.

Cute little restaurant with nice service.
Food was a little bland, and very small portion for an all you can eat. The unlimited cocktail and soft drink option was a great thing.

Extremely disappointed last night Booking. We got there for special dinner expecting to have a good one. The Waiters were inexperienced and short staffed, they just stood there at our table not introducing the menu to us as we waited. We chose $99 per person was going to be expensive one to get the best serve. Unfortunately, what we get very disgusting.the meat very smelly and can tell it was an old meat wasn’t as described on the website.Frozen seafood! Terrible taste. Sauces were bland and meat was chewy and tasteless. YeFor 4 people cost $434 For disgusting dinner . No one can eat it !! Worst experience ever! Very Disgusting !! Be aware!!
