Attended to have a meal. The prices were reasonable for a hotel. Food was tasty and enjoyable with good size portions. Wide variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. Didn’t manage desert but few that came out looked good.

I was up in the Scottish Borders on a business trip. The Townhouse was recommended to me by a colleague. And WOW - he got it right!
Arrived in the early evening., Greeted by a friendly member of staff. Checked in. She advised me on the meals, including breakfast the next day. I had to get to the office at 8.15am which meant I would miss breakfast as it is usually from 8am. No problem, she would arrange for me to have breakfast at 7.30am. I have never had such an accommodating response!
I was having dinner that evening. WOW WOW WOW! The food was outstanding. AND it was included in my room rate - Bed, Breakfast and Dinner for £140. WOW!
The service, the food were completely amazing!
The room was clean - no I mean spotless with a comfortable bed and a shower that actually worked.
Thank you to the team at The Townhouse. I hope to be back in the near future.
If you are reading this and find yourself in the Scottish Borders - a beautiful part of the World I will also add - I highly recommend you go stay at The Townhouse in Melrose.
BRILLIANT!
My mum took me here for my birthday meal this evening as we are staying at the caravan site in the town for a girls weekend.
For me the best thing was the atmosphere, not too busy but not too quiet. I quite enjoyed that we could chat away without struggling to hear one another.
All the staff who served us were lovely, polite and attentive.
Food was DELICIOUS!! I went for the burger and my mum had beef shin. Both were beautiful and tasty.
I'll be back again as it was such a nice experience throughout.

Lovely stay. The hotel is spotless, our room was large, tastefully decorated and very comfortable. Dinner and breakfast was delicious and the service was just perfect. Highly recommended.

Lovely funeral tea in a nice setting with conservatory and outdoor seating. In a handy town centre location.
We enjoyed the hotel and and surrounding areas so much we stayed a second night. The rooms were spacious and well accommodated, the restaurant served a variety of good dishes, and the staff was gracious. We would go back to Scotland Judy to stay there again. The day hikes are stunning.
