The best eggs benedict I've ever eaten, and I've eaten alot, all over the world! Superb.

A lovely sunny spot near the Abbey, staff were friendly and the food tasty and arrived quickly. I'd recommend the soup!

Lovely cafe’ with friendly staff. A very warm welcome from the front of counter staff as we entered. Lady offered us a bar stool and table in the waiting area with menu’s, while we waited to be seated in the cafe’ (well organised). Didn’t wait long for a table to be cleaned. Ordered a Latte coffee with a cheese scone delicious. 😋 However nephew had macaroni cheese which came with chips/ french fries, this was supposed to be a child’s portion but more like an adults. Expected a lovely homemade taste of melting cheese but got a more “pot noodle” / Chinese taste at the beginning however this seemed better further down the macaroni. This was followed by their ice-cream from the “do it yourself machine”. Waited and better waited on the young male waiter to bring us the ice cream cup and spoon, he clearly forgot but didn’t apologise. Instructions to use this fancy ice-cream machine was not easily understood. After all the waiting was slightly disappointed in the taste of the toffee ice-cream and probably won’t buy this again. But will visit the cafe’ again for the coffee and scone!!

Nice little cafe in Melrose opposite the abbey. There is a car park next to the building that can fill up quickly on weekends. The cafe itself has several tables inside and out. They also have free wifi and allow dogs. The food is pretty good and the coffee is nice. We both enjoyed the pancakes with maple syrup and bacon. Worth stopping by if you’re in the area.

Stopped for coffe and cake before a walk. Great service. Scones with fresh cream were amazing. Coffe was tasty too. We had our dog with us and they welcomed us with no problem.

After a gentle walk round the town we stopped at this cafe for some lunch.
Mushroom and tarragon soup. Followed up with a cappuccino and a scone.
Food is delicious and the service was very attentive and friendly.
We had our pup with us so we sat outside and people watched.
Cracking place to stop off and have some food and relaxation.

very conscientious about serving vegan meals and making sure all components including butter are vegan. Delicious soup, salad, and sandwiches. Please have more vegan desserts.

My wife and I have eaten here 3 times during our stay this week which speaks for itself. We have a small dog and ate outside enjoying the good weather twice and indoors on our other visit as dogs are only able to access the front part of the indoor restaurant. The food and service are excellent and great value for money. A very varied menu which caters for vegetarians, vegans and those looking for gluten-free options. Ingredients appear to be mainly locally sourced and very fresh. Thoroughly recommended.

Normally we avoid eating too near a tourist site but something made us try it out. We were rewarded. Good food, friendly staff, filling portions. Well worth a look in

Delicious soup and sandwich, friendly staff and a really lovely café.

Had a delicious crispy chicken with spicy mayo toasted ciabatta and a side of their beautiful rosemary salted fries. Wasn't easy to decide what to order from the lovely menu.
Staff are super friendly and happy and even though it was an extremely busy Friday lunchtime we didn't have to wait long for our food. Would definitely recommend trying here for lunch if you're in Melrose.

Was busy, however order taken swiftly. Area clean. Staff were attentive. Tables spaced appropriately. Fancied a bit carbs after exercise so had mac/cheese with bacon, which was clearly home made and not pre packed as is sometimes case in busy food outlets. Was there with family and all enjoyed food. There is outdoor seating, sufficient clean toilets and disability access.

Lovely cafe, friendly staff waiting to serve us and very knowledgeable about the food offer. Lemon drizzle cake portion tiny however, hence only four stars. Will be back though.

Went here for late breakfast/early lunch after dog walk this morning.
Sat outside at the side as a) it was a lovely day b) I had a dog with me and c) I smoke
I had to call over a waitress to ask for a menu and on her return, I inquired if I could have an ashtray.....I was informed there was none and she suggested I chucked it over the wall. A second waitress then quickly informed me I was sitting in a no smoking area(there was no signage visible) and instructed me to move to the seats at the front
Once moved, I ordered baked eggs with chorizo and a coffee. Coffee arrived promptly and was very nice. After about 10minutes, the eggs arrived looking like they had been in the oven all morning! The yolks were dry and crispy and the rest was like rubber and completely inedible. The bread that accompanied it had a stale 'left out' feel to it as well
When ordering a second coffee to make up for my lack of food, I asked the waitress to remove the plate, telling her it had been inedible. She just shrugged and said 'oh right'
Very disappointed in today's experience.....I've been here before and had a lovely meal, but I'm not sure it'll be top of my list in Melrose anymore

Lovely food and wonderful friendly helpful staff, who appear to love dogs, which is good as we go everywhere with our two, amazing

I had a very relaxed catch up with 2 great friends yesterday afternoon at the Greenhouse Café. Lovely tea and selection of scones, very friendly staff, and happy atmosphere. Will definitely be back. Added bonus is that it is dog friendly.

We were in Melrose for a few days and went into this recently opened cafe for a cuppa. The staff were friendly and the service was excellent. It was difficult to choose from the good range of homebaking
on display but the scones were perfect! Reasonably priced too - we will return.

Excellent service and delicious food! Would highly recommend this cafe!

Lovely dog friendly cafe just opened in the heart of Melrose. Nice selection of light bites and main meals on the menu as well as a good selection of tempting cakes and other treats.

Very nice new cafe. Very professionally run, finished to a very high standard and terrific views over to Melrose Abbey.
The food was excellent, but I'd hoped there would be the usual 'cafe' options of panini, toastie, baked potatoes etc but perhaps you could consider adding that as you settle in.
An excellent additional asset to Melrose. Best of luck to team-Greenhouse.

Visited for the first time, seems very clean and the staff were very friendly. There seemed to be a blockage somewhere in the kitchen yesterday as an engineer came through the cafe into the kitchen and left again by an obvious exit. For no apparent reason, two of the kitchen staff then came out the same exit and signalled to be let back into the cafe via the fire exit. A very interesting experience, can't wait for the next one!

Waited 15 minutes for a coffee, cafe very busy and informed by waitress that she had lots of other people waiting. Left before was served. A bit disappointed.

Popped in after a dog walk and had a lovely lunch in the sunshine, yummy goats cheese salad and my husband had the burger, both really nice, added bonus that the was out. dog friendly both inside and out

£6 for a cheese sandwich...... Scones fell to bits when cut in half. Don't imagine I'll be back in a hurry.... Coffee was ok.
