Visit Hillbrush - Mere - Photo album

Wow! Came across this cafe by accident as I saw the sign and we needed lunch. I would definitely go back when travelling again. We only had a sandwich but one of the best. They also have a little museum which was fascinating. Never knew brushes could be interesting!
A café / restaurant in a brush factory... Quite pricey - the food and the brushes But good quality - again.. the food and the brushes I had a burger, in a homemade bun with tomato relish. Excellent. With salad and fries £14 + make of that what you will
I thought it was a garden centre, and visited for a cafe stop , but it's a brush museum! With a cafe! Very interesting displays of brush manufacturing, and a very nice cafe as well!
Top place to eat on a journey but some will find it a bit expensive after suffering the "delights" of the other roadside establishments - e.g. greasy things and a cup of brown liquid. This is proper, excellently cooked food with first class service in the most unusual of settings. Been coming here
This is a great place to visit. Museum is small but gives lots of interesting information about brush making. Shop has some interesting items for sale. However the real gem is the cafe/restaurant- it is brilliant. Food is high quality and the staff are excellent. It is great to find such a place jus
If you are in the Mere, Gillingham (A303) area... a great place to stop off for nice tea or coffee... a fairly good menu, the food is very good... a little more expensive than some but breakfast was very nice!
The museum is small but the café/restaurant is what you go there for. Lovely food and cakes served in a large open environment. Easy parking and just off the A303, I can't work out why people go to the Starbucks up the road and sit in the car park to drink coffee out of non-recyclable paper cups.
Great find if you want quality food or refreshments just off A303. Buy a quality brush or look at the history of brush making in a modern clean restaurant next to the factory.
Excellent venue for celebrations with ample parking. Modern, clean and exceptional facilities.
Small but interesting museum and shop. Excellent cafe/ restaurant..
The restaurant is lovely: well designed and spacious. Menu is not your usual 'run of the mill' type and is quite expensive: our breakfast of mushrooms on sourdough with poached eggs was delicious but a bit pricey at £12. Small, but interesting, 'museum' about the history of the company and what they
Stopped in on the way down the a303. Really close to that road. Great food for lunch, lovely staff and surprised it wasn't busier. It's clear they're really making an effort to deliver high standards. Small, but interesting display on brushes and how they're made. Will stop again, thanks to
I always stop off here on my way back from Surrey - primarily to use the loo! In my experience the standard of these are consistently excellent; spotlessly clean, well-stocked and pleasantly scented. Whoever is responsible for cleaning these areas has an eye for detail and takes pride in their wor
Brush central. First visit. Interesting museum and restuarant was very good and prices a little more than I expected but meal and service was very good and will visit again. Lots of household products for sale so worth checking out.
Stopped at Hillbrush for lunch. Food and service was very good although quite expensive. The museum was fascinating - never knew there were so many materials and so many types of brushes. We'll worth s visit.
Very nice meal, somewhat pricey
Nice coffee and cake museum was ok
