We have just been staying in a cottage in this area, saw the signs for this pub whilst walking at Low Force. We went for a evening meal. What a delightful, quaint, beautiful, picturesque pub. Landlady was very welcoming, friendly and we hadn't booked but we were made to feel very welcome. Food was 5 Star, gosh was absolutely delicious. Our table had the lamb and others had the rib eyed beef - mouthwatering! Fabulous selection of ciders. Pretty beer garden with breathtaking views. Would highly recommend a visit.

A fireside meal on a cold day with a beer. What better place to end your walk. The food was nice with generous portions and the chips were great. There is a wide range of dishes on offer and we were spoilt for choice! Everyone enjoyed their meal and the prices were fine. The bartender was lovely and made us feel very welcome. The pub itself is very cosy and nicely furnished. A large beer garden is available and there is also a room with a pool table. Be aware that there are only a couple of large tables available inside, so it may be worth booking ahead on a cold day.

Lovely pub, amazing pie, outstanding selection of beers and cider. We received a really warm welcome with our 6 month old and our Labrador after a walk. Exactly what we needed. Must visit if in the area.

Lovely pub, lovely staff and the beer was perfect. We called in after a 10 mile hike past High Force. The staff came out to the beer garden and gave the dogs some treats. Highly recommended. Lots of butterflies in the garden.

Very nice little pub. I had the burger which was excellent. The cherry cider I had went down a treat. And my pudding of Billionaire cheesecake was gorgeous. Thoroughly enjoyed.

This pub is in a great location and looks inviting from the outside. The meals are reasonably-priced, hearty fair and big enough for any appetite. Plenty of decent vegetarian options available (and not a mushroom risotto in sight, thankfully). Food is served daily throughout the afternoon, so there's no need to rush to get there before everything shuts down at 2pm. When the bar is full though, it can be quite noisy and soft drinks, tea and coffee are quite dear.

Only called for a quick drink before heading back to our hotel, but the welcome was friendly and the beer excellent. If we hadn't been booked in for a meal in our hotel I would certainty have wanted to try it. A lovely quaint pub which was all beautifully presented.
