Food, service and surroundings all perfect. We had a late lunch table service was slow, as it's very popular, for good reason. It's ideal for a chilled Sunday lunch. I guess avoid if you want a quick stop though, but to me, that's not what Sunday lunch is about.
What a great afternoon we were spoilt by the weather and the food and drink. Sitting in the sun, looking at the back of the south downs.
Hidden jem in the heart of the South Downs national park and is perfectly situated for a spot of lunch or a post South Downs Way dog walk pint and bag of pork scratings.
Staff are very friendly and the beer garden has possibly one of the best outlooks in the county.
Best meal for a long time in an excellent setting and fantastic staff
A great pub to eat in a great area to walk. I only get to eat here once a year at most. I would love come back when the weather is warm and dry.
Arrived on a very hot day, spent few hours in garden, got very busy then went in to have a meal, no complaints, meal and service good.
Always enjoy our meals here. Lovely location.
Fantastic meal. Highly recommend the steak and the mac cheese was stunning. One of the best meals we've had all year. Very friendly bar staff, attentive but not overwhelming, lovely to see dogs are welcome. Fabulous views from the garden. Actually couldn't ask for more. Well done guys.
Great local pub with fantastic scenery and staff. Will go again.
Called in after a long dog walk, had a fantastic lunch, lovely atmosphere, great views of the South Downs and very friendly and professional staff. We will definitely go back and highly recommend.
