La Piazzetta

Well… I certainly have not expected I’ll have the best Saltimbocca Romana in Midhurst, UK and not in Italy :). The garlic pizza bread and children’s pasta were excellent too, and perfectly balanced british Banoffee pie and proper espresso just topped it off. The Montepulciano that I ordered with the food was great too, and served at a correct temperature. Can’t recommend this place enough… we’re now on a 2-week trip through Austria, Belgium, France and UK, eating at well rated places only, and this was hands down the best experience yet.

Came for lunch on 5/04/22, only ones in there which was sad. We were visiting the area and made a last minute decision to pop here. As big foodies we see ourselves as having reliable palettes. I thought bang for buck was really good, I had the prosciutto pizza was great, fluffy base, great sauce base and lovely toppings. My girlfriend had the carbonara and thought it was rich, it was plentiful and cheesy. Lovely place nice atmosphere service could be better but can’t knock it really for its price.

Our first visit was fantastic, food was delicious, and good service. Duck and Veal dishes were so tasty... Tiramisu was yummy, yummy! Great house red wine too. Big open restaurant, spacious seating, nice deco. Clean toilets. Staff on the quiet side, not very friendly or welcoming. Our second visit was actually just the following day. We had raved so much about the place that my son wanted to try it out. But unfortunately we were greatly disappointed. The Lasagna was bland and cold in the middle (I did inform the waitress) and the rest of the food wasn't up the previous night standard. The fried seafood was more like a tapas dish, my sea bass was flavourless and underwhelming. Maybe it was because of the St Valentine's weekend...? hopefully it was just a bad day for the staff. My five star review was solely for our first night...we loved it.

We ordered take away using online ordering. I collected from the restaurant. The food was very good. Hopefully one day we will be able to have a meal at the restaurant. 11/01/2022 Update to earlier review. This is the first time we have eaten in the restaurant, having previously ordered takeaway. The food was amazing, the takeaway we have previously had were good, but eating in was so much better. Staff couldn't be more helpful adjusting a dish for a vegetarian. I also felt the cost of the meal was very reasonable. The only disappointing thing was nobody had room for pudding! Love this restaurant we will be back.
