This used to be my socialising haunt in the 60s and 70s. To see the changes that have been made are amazing. The decor is fascinating. Wishing the new owners well in their enterprise.
Had a lovely lunch, they forgot our second round of drinks then forgot to come back and clear the plates and offer us desert. Got there in the end deserts were fab. We were seated in a separate room from the main bar and I think this was the main issue of being forgotten. Will def return but will on

The new refurbishment looks fab! Came in for breakfast. Good quality ingredients well cooked and great service. Coffee was fantastic!
Only minor criticisms were there was no salt and pepper on the table, toast was served without butter, and I'd have loved a 2nd cup of coffee to go with my breakfast
I recently visited The Lord Nelson after its refurbishment and had a mixed dining experience. The staff were notably friendly, with special mention to our attentive waitress, Rachel. However, the food had its ups and downs. The starters, buffalo wings and salmon pâté, left something to be desired –
